Calculation of the specific heats for the II-III and II-IV phase transitions in NH4I

2003-01-01
wThis study gives our calculation for the specific heats C-VI due to an Ising model using the observed C-P data for the II-III and II-IV phase transitions in NH4I. By fitting to the Cp data we determine the values of the critical exponent for the pressure of 0.14 GPa (II-III phase transition) and for the pressures of 0.75, 1.35 and 1.97GPa (II-IV phase transition) in NH4I. Our exponent values are close to the predicted values of the specific heat in a three-dimensional Ising model. Our calculated C-VI are in good agreement with the experimental Cp for NH4I in most cases.

Measurement of the Upsilon(1S), Upsilon(2S), and Upsilon(3S) Polarizations in pp Collisions at root s 7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2013-02-01)
The polarizations of the Upsilon(1S), Upsilon(2S), and Upsilon(3S) mesons are measured in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV, using a data sample of Upsilon(nS) -> mu(+)mu(-) decays collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1). The dimuon decay angular distributions are analyzed in three different polarization frames. The polarization parameters lambda(theta), lambda(phi), and lambda(theta phi), as well as the frame-invariant quantity (lambda) over tilde, ...
Measurement of Prompt D-0 Meson Azimuthal Anisotropy in Pb-Pb Collisions at root S-NN=5.02 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2018-05-01)
The prompt D-0 meson azimuthal anisotropy coefficients, v(2) and ?v(3), are measured at midrapidity ( |y| < 1.0) in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair with data collected by the CMS experiment. The measurement is performed in the transverse momentum (p(T)) range of 1 to 40 GeV/c, for central and midcentral collisions. The v(2) coefficient is found to be positive throughout the p(T) range studied. The first measurement of the prompt D-0 meson v(3) coefficient i...
Calculation of the infrared frequency and the damping constant (full width at half maximum) for metal organic frameworks
Kurt, M.; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Kurt, Aygül; Aksoy, S. (IOP Publishing, 2019-06-01)
The rho(NH2) infrared (IR) frequencies and the corresponding full width at half maximum (FWHM) values for (CH3)(2)(NH2FeMII)-M-III(HCOO)(6) (DMFeM, M = Ni, Zn, Cu, Fe, and Mg) are analyzed at various temperatures by using the experimental data from the literature. For the analysis of the IR frequencies of the rho(NH2) mode which is associated with the structural phase transitions in those metal structures, the temperature dependence of the mode frequency is assumed as an order parameter and the IR frequenci...
Measurement of the B-+/- Meson Nuclear Modification Factor in Pb-Pb Collisions at root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2017-10-01)
The differential production cross sections of B-+/- mesons are measured via the exclusive decay channels B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- -> mu(+)mu K--(+/-) as a function of transverse momentum in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair with the CMS detector at the LHC. The pp(Pb - Pb) data set used for this analysis corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 28.0 pb(-1) (351 mu b(-1)). The measurement is performed in the B-+/- meson transverse momentum range of 7 to 5...
Calculation of the Raman frequencies of lattice modes in the disordered phase II of NH4Br at high pressures
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Physics Essays Publication, 2010-01-01)
The Raman frequencies are calculated here at various temperatures for the nu(7) (56 cm(-1)) and nu(5) (134 cm(-1)) lattice modes in the disordered phase II of NH4Br. The lattice parameter data obtained at zero pressure are used to calculate the Raman frequencies of those modes studied for constant pressures of 0.1, 108, and 637.5 MPa in phase II of the NH4Br crystal. Through the mode Gruumlneisen parameter which is kept constant in the disordered phase II, the Raman frequencies calculated decrease linearly ...
