Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs) are hypothetical particles predicted by many extensions of the Standard Model. These particles can, among other things, explain the origin of neutrino masses, generate the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe and provide a dark matter candidate.

Properties of excited B-c states in QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Bilmiş, Selçuk (Elsevier BV, 2019-10-01)
The mass and leptonic decay constants of recently observed two new excited B-c states at LHC are studied within the QCD sum rules. Considering the contributions of the ground and radially excited states, the mass and residues of the excited states of pseudoscalar and vector mesons are calculated in the framework of two different approaches of the QCD sum rules, namely, linear combinations of the corresponding sum rules and its derivatives as well as QCD sum rules with the incorporation of the least square f...
Rare decay of the top t -> cgg in the standard model
Eilam, G; Frank, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2006-03-01)
We calculate the one-loop flavor changing neutral current top quark decay t -> cgg in the standard model. We demonstrate that the rate for t -> cgg exceeds the rate for a single gluon emission t -> cg by about 2 orders of magnitude, while the rate for t -> cq (q) over bar q=u is slightly smaller than for t -> cg.
Thermodynamics of Lifshitz black holes
Devecioglu, Deniz Olgu; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (American Physical Society (APS), 2011-06-23)
We apply the recently extended conserved Killing charge definition of Abbott-Deser-Tekin formalism to compute, for the first time, the energies of analytic Lifshitz black holes in higher dimensions. We then calculate the temperature and the entropy of this large family of solutions, and study and discuss the first law of black hole thermodynamics. Along the way we also identify the possible critical points of the relevant quadratic curvature gravity theories. Separately, we also apply the generalized Killin...
Identification techniques for highly boosted W bosons that decay into hadrons
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-12-01)
In searches for new physics in the energy regime of the LHC, it is becoming increasingly important to distinguish single-jet objects that originate from the merging of the decay products of W bosons produced with high transverse momenta from jets initiated by single partons. Algorithms are defined to identify such W jets for different signals of interest, using techniques that are also applicable to other decays of bosons to hadrons that result in a single jet, such as those from highly boosted Z and Higgs ...
Measurement of spin correlations in tt production using the matrix element method in the muon plus jets final state in pp collisions at root S=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2016-07-01)
The consistency of the spin correlation strength in top quark pair production with the standard model (SM) prediction is tested in the muon+jets final state. The events are selected from pp collisions, collected by the CMS detector, at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The data are compared with the expectation for the spin correlation predicted by the SM and with the expectation of no correlation. Using a template fit method, the fraction of events ...
