In this study, 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-tert-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidin-4-yl-vinyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) was achieved using the experimental and theoretical studies. The electronic, optical and spectroscopic properties of DCJTB molecule were first investigated by performing experimental both solution and thin film techniques and then theoretical calculations. Theoretical results showed that one intense.electronic transition is 505.26 nm a quite reasonable and agreement with the measured experimental data 505.00 and 503 nm with solution technique and film technique, respectively. Experimental and simple models were also taken into consideration to calculate the optical refractive index (n) of DCJTB molecule. The structural and electronic properties were next calculated using density functional theory (DFT) with B3LYP/6-311G (d, p) basis set. UV, FT-IR spectra characteristics and the electronic properties, such as frontier orbitals, and band gap energy (E-g) of DCJTB were also recorded time-dependent (TD) DFT approach. The theoretical Eg value were found to be 2.269 eV which is consistent with experimental results obtained from solution technique for THE solvent (2.155 eV) and literature (2.16 eV). The results herein obtained reveal that solution is simple, cost-efficient and safe for optoelectronic applications when compared with film technique.

CO2 emissions of Turkish manufacturing industry: A decomposition analysis
Akbostancı Özkazanç, Elif; Tunç, Gül İpek (2011-06-01)
In this study. CO2 emissions of Turkish manufacturing industry are calculated by using the fuel consumption data at ISIC revision 2, four digit level. Study covers 57 industries, for the 1995-2001 period. Log Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) method is used to decompose the changes in the CO2 emissions of manufacturing industry into five components: changes in activity, activity structure, sectoral energy intensity, sectoral energy mix and emission factors. Mainly, it is found that changes in total industrial activ...
Investigation of turbulence models used in automotive industry
Taştan, Umur; Çetinkaya, Tahsin Ali; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2011)
In this study; reliability and performance of turbulence models used in CFD softwares to determine the aerodynamics of passenger cars, are tested and compared. In the analyses, drag forces acting on the car, pressure and velocity distributions and wake flow patterns are determined by using several turbulence models with a commercial software Fluent. Calculated results compared to the experimental results given in the literature. It is observed that, turbulence models give relatively reliable results for det...

Characterization of the MgO/GaSe0.5S0.5 heterojunction designed for visible light communications
Qasrawi, A. F.; AlGarni, S. E.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2015-11-01)
In this study an optoelectronic design is reported and characterized. The device is made of p-type MgO solved in sodium silicate binder and n-type GaSe0.5S0.5 heterojunction. It is described by means of X-ray diffraction, optical absorption and reflection in the incident light wavelength range of 190-1100 nm and by means of dark and 406 nm laser excited current (I)-voltage (V) characteristics. The optical reflectance was also measured as a function of angle of incidence of light in the range of 35-80. The s...
Thermoluminescent properties of Sr2P2O7 doped with copper and some rare earth elements
YAZICI, AHMET NECMEDDİN; Seyyidoglu, Semih; Toktamis, Hueseyin; Yılmaz, Ayşen (2010-10-01)
In this study. Sr2P2O7 was doped with some rare earth oxides (Pr6O11, Nd2O3, Dy2O3, Ho2O3, Er2O3, and Tm2O3) at 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 10%, and 15% (by weight) and co-doped with CuO by heating at 900 C for 10 h. Structural analysis of the products was carried out by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). XRD patterns of the samples showed that doping did not alter the orthorhombic structure of the Sr2P2O7. Thermoluminescence (TL) glow curve measurements were obtained and these showed that Pr and Cu-doped Sr2P2O...
