In this study, the parameters of the regression models for the lactation curve were estimated. A total of 45 standard milk yield records obtained from the first, the second and the third lactations of jersey bred in Karakoy State Farm were used in the present study, Milk production records were corrected for the ages of cows ond the numbers of lactation.

Inference in multivariate linear regression models with elliptically distributed errors
İslam, Muhammed Qamarul; Yazici, Mehmet (2014-08-01)
In this study we investigate the problem of estimation and testing of hypotheses in multivariate linear regression models when the errors involved are assumed to be non-normally distributed. We consider the class of heavy-tailed distributions for this purpose. Although our method is applicable for any distribution in this class, we take the multivariate t-distribution for illustration. This distribution has applications in many fields of applied research such as Economics, Business, and Finance. For estimat...
Estimation and hypothesis testing in multivariate linear regression models under non normality
İslam, Muhammed Qamarul (Informa UK Limited, 2017-01-01)
This paper discusses the problem of statistical inference in multivariate linear regression models when the errors involved are non normally distributed. We consider multivariate t-distribution, a fat-tailed distribution, for the errors as alternative to normal distribution. Such non normality is commonly observed in working with many data sets, e.g., financial data that are usually having excess kurtosis. This distribution has a number of applications in many other areas of research as well. We use modifie...
ON FOUNDATIONS OF PARAMETER ESTIMATION FOR GENERALIZED PARTIAL LINEAR MODELS WITH B-SPLINES AND CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION
TAYLAN, PAKİZE; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Liu, Lian (2010-02-04)
Generalized linear models are widely-used statistical techniques. As an extension, generalized partial linear models utilize semiparametric methods and augment the usual parametric terms by a single nonparametric component of a continuous covariate. In this paper, after a short introduction, we present our model in the generalized additive context with a focus on penalized maximum likelihood and on the penalized iteratively reweighted least squares (P-IRLS) problem based on B-splines which is attractive for...
Fault detection and diagnosis in nonlinear dynamical systems
Kılıç, Erdal; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
The aim of this study is to solve Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) problems occurring in nonlinear dynamical systems by using model and knowledge-based FDD methods and to give a priority and a degree about faults. For this purpose, three model-based FDD approaches, called FDD by utilizing principal component analysis (PCA), system identification based FDD and inverse model based FDD are introduced. Performances of these approaches are tested on different nonlinear dynamical systems starting from simple t...
Evaluation of environmental parameters in logistic regression models for landslide susceptibility mapping
Süzen, Mehmet Lütfi (Informa UK Limited, 2012-01-01)
The aim of this study was to determine how well the landslide susceptibility parameters, obtained by data-dependent statistical models, matched with the parameters used in the literature. In order to achieve this goal, 20 different environmental parameters were mapped in a well-studied landslide-prone area, the Asarsuyu catchment in northwest Turkey. A total of 4400 seed cells were generated from 47 different landslides and merged with different attributes of 20 different environmental causative variables i...
