A COMPUTATION OF THE EQUATION OF STATE FOR A FERMI GAS

Calculation of equation of state in stellar interiors becomes difficult as contained gas deviates from perfect gas. We present a method for the calculation of electron pressure in terms of density and temperature in the presence of degeneracy. The method is applicable for T < 10(9) K, and requires complete ionization.

A Suzaku X-ray study of the mixed-morphology supernova remnant Kes 69 and searching for its gamma-ray counterpart
Sezer, A.; Ergin, Tülün; Yamazaki, R.; Ohira, Y.; Cesur, N. (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2018-11-01)
Kes 69 is a mixed-morphology (MM) supernova remnant (SNR) that is known to be interacting with molecular clouds based on 1720 MHz hydroxyl (OH) maser emission observations in the northeastern and southeastern regions. We present an investigation of Kes 69 using similar to 67 ks Suzaku observation. The X-ray spectrum of the whole SNR is well fitted by a non-equilibrium ionization model with an electron temperature of kT(e) similar to 2.5 keV, ionization time-scale of tau similar to 4.1 x 10(10) cm(-3) s and ...
CONVECTION ZONE OF WHITE-DWARF STARS
ATWEH, ZM; ERYURTEZER, D (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1992-01-01)
The boundary convection zones of hot helium white-dwarf stars (WDSs) in the range 17000 K less-than-or-equal-to T(e) less-than-or-equal-to 30000 K are studied. Recently, an anisotropic mixing-length theory (AMLT) which determines the mixing-length parameter locally is applied for the convection zones calculation. Comparing with the calculations by using the (MLT), it is found that maximum velocity decreases appreciably, and the other boundary conditions are affected.
Influence of opal equation of state to interior structure and evolution of the sun
Durmus, A; Civelek, R (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2005-02-01)
It was computed the interior structure and evolution of the Sun with the OPAL equation of state during the hydrogen burning phase. Theoretical evolution calculations of solar model, starting from threshold of stability point at which gravitational and internal energy are nearly the same, were carried out using Ezer equation of state through the gravitational contraction and premain sequence. Later, during hydrogen burning phase, solar model was constructed with OPAL equation of state which was defined in th...

W We present the reconstructed real-space density and the predicted velocity fields from the Two-Micron All-Sky Redshift Survey (2MRS). The 2MRS is the densest all-sky redshift survey to date and includes about 23 200 galaxies with extinction-corrected magnitudes brighter than K-s = 11.25. Our method is based on the expansion of these fields in Fourier-Bessel functions. Within this framework, the linear redshift distortions only affect the density field in the radial direction and can easily be deconvolved ...
A search for supernova remnants in the nearby spiral galaxy M74 (NGC 628)
SONBAŞ, EDA; AKYÜZ, AYSUN; Balman, Şölen; Ozel, M. E. (EDP Sciences, 2010-07-01)
An optical search was carried out for supernova remnants (SNRs) in the Sc type nearby spiral galaxy M 74, using ground-based observations at the TUBITAK National Observatory (TUG, Antalya/Turkey) and the Special Astrophysics Observatory (SAO, Russia). Observations were supplemented by the spectral analysis of archived X-ray data from XMM-Newton and Chandra. The survey of M74 covered similar to 9 arcmin(2) with [S II], H alpha, and their continuum filters. Interference filter images of M 74 were obtained the...
