The spin structure of the amplitudes for antiproton annihilation at rest, (p) over bar + N --> P + V, P = pi, eta; V = rho, omega, phi, is established. The relation between symmetry properties of strong interaction (isospin invariance and the invariance relative to charge conjugation) and the polarization effects in such reactions are derived. It is demonstrated that the simplest polarization effects in (p) over bar + N --> P + V, namely, the elements of V-meson density matrix, are sensitive to possible violation of the isospin invariance and C-invariance. The analysis of the spin structure of P-wave annihilation amplitudes is also presented.

Measurement of the Z boson differential cross section in transverse momentum and rapidity in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2015-10-01)
We present a measurement of the Z boson differential cross section in rapidity and transverse momentum using a data sample of pp collision events at a centre-of-mass energy root s = 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The Z boson is identified via its decay to a pair of muons. The measurement provides a precision test of quantum chromodynamics over a large region of phase space. In addition, due to the small experimental uncertainties in the measurement the data has the potentia...
Measurement of the W charge asymmetry in the W -> mu nu decay mode in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Aad, G.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2011-06-27)
This Letter reports a measurement of the muon charge asymmetry from W bosons produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The asymmetry is measured in the W -> mu nu decay mode as a function of the muon pseudorapidity using a data sample corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 31 pb(-1). The results are compared to predictions based on next-to-leading order calculations with various parton distribution functions. This measurement pr...
Measurement of the groomed jet mass in PbPb and pp collisions at root s(NN)=5:02 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-10-01)
A measurement of the groomed jet mass in PbPb and pp collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC is presented. Jet grooming is a recursive procedure which sequentially removes soft constituents of a jet until a pair of hard subjets is found. The resulting groomed jets can be used to study modifications to the parton shower evolution in the presence of the hot and dense medium created in heavy ion collisions. Predictions of groomed jet properties from th...
Measurement with the ATLAS detector of multi-particle azimuthal correlations in p plus Pb collisions at root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
Aad, G.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2013-08-09)
In order to study further the long-range correlations ("ridge") observed recently in p + Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV, the second-order azimuthal anisotropy parameter of charged particles, v(2), has been measured with the cumulant method using the ATLAS detector at the LHC. In a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 1 mu b(-1), the parameter v(2) has been obtained using two- and four-particle cumulants over the pseudorapidity range vertical bar eta vertical bar < 2...
Measurement of the high-mass Drell-Yan differential cross-section in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Aad, G.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2013-10-01)
This Letter reports a measurement of the high-mass Drell-Yan differential cross-section in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC. Based on an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1), the differential cross-section in the Z/gamma* -> e(+)e(-) channel is measured with the ATLAS detector as a function of the invariant mass, m(ee), in the range 116 < m(ee) < 1500 GeV, for a fiducial region in which both the electron and the positron have transverse momentum p(T) > 25 GeV and pseudo...
