CORRELATION BETWEEN BOLOMETRIC AND X-RAY LUMINOSITIES IN RS CVN-TYPE BINARIES
DEMIRCAN, O (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1987-10-01)
Re-analysis of the X-ray emission from RS CVn-type binaries has revealed that-contrary to the claims by many authors-their coronal activity is not independent of bolometric luminosity (and thus mass). It becomes clear that activity in late-type stars is also powered-just as in the case of early-type stars-mostly by photospheric radiation.
Correlation between barrier height and band offsets in metal/Si1-xGex/Si heterostructures
Nur, O; Karlsteen, M; Willander, M; Turan, Raşit; Aslan, B; Tanner, MO; Wang, KL (1998-12-28)
The variation of barrier height with the band gap in the metal/heterojunction systems is related to how the Fermi level position varies with respect to band edges. If the Fermi level is pinned by the interface states its movement will also correspond to the movement of the neutrality level at the interface. Metal/Si1-xGex/Si heterostructures (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.24) for both n- and p-type substrates were studied to understand the relation between Schottky barrier, Fermi level m...
Correlation between the viscoelastic properties and cracking potential of engineered cementitious composites
KESKİN, SÜLEYMAN BAHADIR; ŞAHMARAN, MUSTAFA; Yaman, İsmail Özgür; Lachemi, Mohamed (2014-11-30)
Although Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) offer a number of advantages over ordinary and fiber reinforced concrete in many respects, it is not cost-effective to build a whole structure with ECC, currently. Thus, ECC can potentially be used in repair systems or in bi-material systems which require it to be used together with a dimensionally stable material. High shrinkage, together with the restraining effect brings about cracking a critical phenomenon for ECC. In this study, along with the mechanica...
Correlation between total and EDTA/DTPA-extractable trace elements in soil and wheat
Cankur, O; Aras, NK; Olmez, I; Zhang, W; Goodwin, WE; Chatt, A (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1999-12-01)
Wheat and wheat products are more important sources of energy and nutrients in diets of people in many cultures compared to other foods. The daily consumption of wheat is about 200 g/d/person in Western Europe and North America. On the other hand, 400-450 g of wheat and wheat products are consumed daily by average Turkish people. Wheat samples collected from the Iskenderun region in 1995 and 1996 and Ankara and Istanbul regions in 1995 were analyzed for their trace element content by instrumental neutron ac...
