EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL INVESTIGATIONS OF SHORT-RANGE ORDER IN Ni-Os AND Co-Os ALLOYS.
Katsnel'son, A.A.; Mehrabov, Amdulla; Silonov, V.M. (1979-01-01)
The existence of local short-range order is established in alloys Ni-1. 5 at. % Os and Co-1. 5, 1. 3 and 0. 5 at. % Os. The ordering energies and parameters are calculated by the pseudopotential allowing for the size effect. The latter is bound to make a contribution to the ordering energy.
Experimental and analytical investigation on the lateral response of ball rubber bearing isolators
Del Vecchio, Ciro; Natale, Andrea; Caner, Alp; Di Ludovico, Marco (2022-04-01)
© 2022 Elsevier LtdRecent earthquakes demonstrated that modern seismic design and retrofit of constructions should target damage containment to reduce the direct and indirect economic losses and downtime. In this context, the use of base isolation as seismic protection strategy is becoming popular. A variety of devices is available on the market. Elastomeric and metallic sliding devices are the most common type of isolators. Ball rubber bearings (BRBs) combine the practical use and the low maintenance cost ...
Experimental and numerical analysis of effect of curing time on mechanical properties of thin spray-on liners
Güner, Doğukan; Öztürk, Hasan; Department of Mining Engineering (2014)
This research study investigates the effect of curing time on elastic material properties (Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio) and tensile, compressive strength of thin spray on liners (TSL). TSLs are fast curing, comparatively thin (3-5mm) and widely used rock support system in mining and civil engineering excavations. They have advantages of low volume, rapid application and low operating cost. The major ingredients of current TSLs are divided as polyurethane/ polyurea or Portland cement based latex product...
Experimental and numerical investigation of comparability of whiplash sled test results
ÖZDEMİR, MUSTAFA; İDER, SITKI KEMAL; Gökler, Mustafa İlhan (2016-02-01)
Whiplash-associated neck injuries represent an important health and socioeconomic problem attracting more and more attention of the vehicle safety community. Sled tests are conducted for the dynamic whiplash assessment of seats. However, reproducibility of the initial backset distances and of the sled pulses in every test plays an important role on the comparability of these results. In this study, in order to investigate these aspects, three different driver seat types are considered with three identical a...
