In this study, N-doped ZnO thin films were fabricated by oxidation of ZnxNy films. The ZnxNy thin films were deposited on glass substrates by pulsed filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition (PFCVAD) using metallic zinc wire (99.999%) as a cathode target in pure nitrogen plasma. The influence of oxidation temperature, on the electrical, structural and optical properties of N-doped ZnO films was investigated. P-type conduction was achieved for the N-doped ZnO obtained at 450 degrees C by oxidation of ZnxNy, with a resistivity of 16.1 Omega cm, hole concentration of 2.03 x 10(16) cm(-3) and Hall mobility of 19 cm(2)/Vs. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis confirmed the incorporation of N into the ZnO films. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern showed that the films as-deposited and oxidized at 350 degrees C were amorphous. However, the oxidized films in air atmosphere at 450-550 degrees C were polycrystalline without preferential orientation. In room temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectra, an ultraviolet (UV) peak was seen for all the samples. In addition, a broad deep level emission was observed. (C) 2011 Elsevier B. V. Structural, optical and magnetic properties of Zn1-xCoxO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis
BACAKSIZ, EMİN; AKSU, SERHAT; Basol, B. M.; Altunbas, M.; Parlak, Mehmet; Yamnaz, E. (Elsevier BV, 2008-09-01)
A series of Co-doped ZnO films were fabricated by a spray pyrolysis method. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the films showed that the undoped and Co-doped ZnO films exhibit wurtzite crystal structure. Surface morphology of the films obtained by scanning electron microscopy reveals that pure ZnO film has the hexagonal shaped microrods. The introduction of Co content in the structure did not affect the surface morphology of the films significantly. Magnetic hysteresis loops were observed at room temperature...
Structural and temperature-dependent optical properties of thermally evaporated CdS thin films
IŞIK, MEHMET; Gullu, H. H.; Delice, S.; Parlak, Mehmet; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2019-04-01)
In this work, structural and temperature dependent optical properties of thermally evaporated CdS thin films were investigated. X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy experiments were carried out to characterize the thin films and obtain information about the crystal structure, atomic composition, surface morphology and vibrational modes. Temperature-dependent transmission measurements were performed in between 10 and 300 K and in the spectral range of 400-1050 nm. The anal...
CONDUCTING POLYMERS OF ANILINE .2. A COMPOSITE AS A GAS SENSOR
DOGAN, S; Akbulut, Ural; YALCIN, T; SUZER, S; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 1993-09-01)
The gas sensing ability of electrochemically prepared pure polyaniline and polyaniline-poly(bisphenol-A carbonate) films is investigated. The responses of the composite films to several vapours are more well defined and reproducible compared to the pure conducting polymer. The changes in resistance as determined via the two-probe technique are well defined down to a level of 0.025% vol./vol. ammonia. The possible reason for such a difference is discussed. The structure of the composite is examined through p...
Enhancing electrochemical and electrochromic performances of carbazole comprising monomer via copolymerization with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT)
Kalay, Isil; Yigit, Deniz; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; DEPCİ, TOLGA; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacioglu, Serife O. (Elsevier BV, 2020-09-01)
In this study, two novel electrochromic copolymers (CoP1.3 and CoP1.5) were synthesized via electrochemical methods and characterized. The comonomers used in the synthesis were 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and a carbazole comprising monomer; 9-(2-(4-(Phenyldiazenyl) phenoxy) ethyl)-3,6-di(thiophen-2-yl)-9H-carbazole (M1). Carbazole containing monomer (M1) and EDOT were combined with two different comonomer feed ratios, 1: 3 and 1: 5 respectively in order to investigate the effect of increasing EDOT amo...
Structural and electrical properties of TlGa(SxSe1-x)(2) mixed crystals
KARABULUT, ORHAN; Parlak, Mehmet; Mamedov, G. M. (Elsevier BV, 2007-01-21)
Systematic investigations of crystal structure, electrical conductivity and photoconductivity have been carried out on the complete series of TlGa(SxSe1-x)(2) solid solutions. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses together with TREOR90 computer program have revealed that this compound shows different structural modifications at each composition. The possible charge transfer mechanisms have been investigated by performing temperature dependent electrical conductivity measurements in the temperature range of 100-4...
