During the years 1994-1997, the emulsion target of the CHORUS detector was exposed to the wide-band neutrino beam of the CERN SPS collecting about 10(6) neutrino interactions. A measurement of (nu) over bar (mu)-induced charm production is performed by using the presence of a 5% (nu) over bar (mu) component in the nu(mu) beam. The measurement takes advantage of the capability to observe the decay topology in the emulsion. The analysis is based on a sample of charged-current interactions with at least one identified muon. About 100 000 were located in the emulsion target and fully reconstructed. By requiring a positive muon charge as determined

Measurement of fragmentation properties of charmed particle production in charged-current neutrino interactions
Onengut, G; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2004-12-01)
During the years 1994-1997, the emulsion target of the CHORUS detector was exposed to the wide-band neutrino beam of the CERN SPS. In total about 100 000 charged-current neutrino interactions were located in the nuclear emulsion target and fully reconstructed. From this sample of events which was based on the data acquired by new automatic scanning systems, 1048 Do events were selected by a pattern recognition program. They were confirmed as neutral-particle decays through visual inspection. Fragmentation p...
Measurements of D-0 production and of decay branching fractions in neutrino-nucleon scattering
Onengut, G; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2005-05-05)
During the years 1994-1997, the emulsion target of the CHORUS detector was exposed to the wide-band neutrino beam of the CERN SPS of 27 GeV average neutrino energy. In total about 100 000 charged-current neutrino interactions were located in the nuclear emulsion target and fully reconstructed. From this sample of events which was based on the data acquired by new automatic scanning systems, 1048 charged-current interactions with a Do in the final state were selected by a pattern recognition program and conf...
Measurement of jet fragmentation into charged particles in pp and PbPb collisions at root s(NN)=2.76 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-10-01)
Jet fragmentation in pp and PbPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair was studied using data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. Fragmentation functions are constructed using charged-particle tracks with transverse momenta p(T) > 4 GeV/c for dijet events with a leading jet of p(T) > 100 GeV/c. The fragmentation functions in PbPb events are compared to those in pp data as a function of collision centrality, as well as dijet-p(T) imbalance. Special emphasis is placed on t...
Measurement of the Z gamma production cross section in pp collisions at 8 TeV and search for anomalous triple gauge boson couplings
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2015-04-01)
The cross section for the production of Z gamma in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV is measured based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb(-1). Events with an oppositely-charged pair of muons or electrons together with an isolated photon are selected. The differential cross section as a function of the photon transverse momentum is measured inclusively and exclusively, where the exclusive selection applies a veto on central jets. The observ...
Measurement of Bose-Einstein correlations in pp collisions at root s=0.9 and 7 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-05-01)
Bose-Einstein correlations between identical particles are measured in samples of proton-proton collisions at 0.9 and 7 TeV centre-of-mass energies, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The signal is observed in the form of an enhancement of number of pairs of same-sign charged particles with small relative momentum. The dependence of this enhancement on kinematic and topological features of the event is studied. Anticorrelations between same-sign charged particles are observed in the region of relati...
