Cyclic palaeokarst surfaces in Aptian peritidal carbonate successions (Taurides, southwest Turkey): internal structure and response to mid-Aptian sea-level fall
Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer; Altıner, Demir (Elsevier BV, 2006-12-01)
The sedimentology and cyclic stratigraphy of palaeokarst structures in Aptian peritidal carbonate successions are interpreted using field and laboratory microfacies analyses of closely spaced samples from measured outcrop stratigraphic sections in southwest Turkey. Cycles displaying shallowing-upward metre-scale cyclicity are generally composed of lime mudstones/wackestones/packestones at the bottom and stromatolites or lime mudstones with charophytes and ostracods at the top. Subaerial exposure structures ...
Cyclic sedimentation along the permian-triassic boundary (central taurides, hadim, sw Turkey).

Cyclic sedimentation across the Permian-Triassic boundary (Central Taurides, Turkey)
Unal, E; Altıner, Demir; Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer; Ozkan-Altiner, S (2003-06-01)
The best preserved Permian - Triassic boundary beds in Turkey are found in the Hadim region of the central Taurides. The succession is exposed in one of the allochthonous units of the Tauride Belt, the Aladag Unit, whose stratigraphy includes beds ranging from the Devonian to the Cretaceous systems. In the Aladag Unit, the Permian - Triassic boundary beds are entirely composed of carbonates. The Permian portion of these beds belongs to the Paradagmarita Zone, whereas the lowermost Triassic contains the Lowe...
Cyclic Carbonate Facies Changes on the Middle to Upper Cenomanian Arabian Carbonate Platform, SE Turkey: An Approach for the Causes of Short- and Long-Term Sea-Level Change
Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer; Mülayim, Oğuz; Sarı, Bilal; Simmons, Mike (2017-08-26)
The studied Cenomanian shallow water platform carbonates of the Derdere Formation lies on the northern Arabian platform in Mardin area, SE Turkey. The sedimentology and cyclic nature of the facies along the studied composite sections have been analysed in terms of cyclostratigraphy. In the lower section, alternations of benthic foraminiferal-algal packstone/wackestone and bioturbated bioclastic wackstone/lime mudstone take place at the base of small scale cycles. Alternations of bivalve/ostracod wackestone/...
Cyclic behavior of Adapazarı silt and clay mixtures
Pekcan, Onur; Çetin, Kemal Önder; Bakır, Bahadır Sadık (null; 2004-01-07)
Within the confines of this paper, it is intended to understand cyclic behavior of clayey silt and silty clay mixtures, sampled from Adapazarı–Turkey. For this purpose, series of cyclic triaxial tests were performed on the samples retrieved from five selected soil sites, where buildings founded on these soils exhibited significant foundation displacements. After consolidating samples to 0.50 atm. cyclic loads were applied to simulate 1999 Kocaeli-Turkey earthquake shaking. Volumetric strains were recorded b...
