Keles, Duygu; Erer, Mert Can; Bolayir, Eda; CEVHER, ŞEVKİ CAN; Hizalan, Gonul; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (Elsevier BV, 2019-08-01)
In this study four novel random polymers, comprising benzothiadiazole and benzotriazole as the accepting units and benzodithiophene as the donor unit, were synthesized via Stille polymerization reaction. Moreover, effects of fluorine atom and pi bridges on optical, electrochemical and optoelectronic properties were investigated. Optical band gap values of P1, P2, P3 and P4 were found as 1.78 eV, 1.72 eV, 1.63 eV and 1.73 eV, respectively. Characterization of polymers via IJV Vis NIR spectroscopy, cyclic vol...
Conjugated polymers with benzothiadiazole and benzotriazole for organic solar cells
Erer, Mert Can; Çırpan, Ali; Department of Chemistry (2019)
In this study two novel random polymers, comprising benzothiadiazole and benzotriazole as the accepting units and benzodithiophene as the donor unit, were examined in terms of their photovoltaic performance. Moreover, effects thiophene and selenophene π bridges on optical, electrochemical and optoelectronic properties of the polymers were investigated. Optical band gap values of selenophene bearing P1 and thiophene P2 were found as 1.63 eV and 1.73 eV, respectively. Characterization of polymers via UV-Vis-N...

There are several studies on organic solar cells based on conjugated polymers in literature, and various new materials are being designed. The Donor-Acceptor approach has been the most common approach for designing and synthesizing conjugated polymers. In this study, thienopyrroledione bearing conjugated polymers were synthesized via Stille and Suzuki polycondensation reactions. In the first part of this thesis, the polymers obtained via Stille polycondensation were employed to fabricate organic solar cells...
