Influence of STRO-1 selection on osteogenic potential of human tooth germ derived mesenchymal stem cells
Ercal, Pinar; Pekozer, Gorke G.; Gumru, Osman Z.; KÖSE, GAMZE; Ramazanoglu, Mustafa (Elsevier BV, 2017-10-01)
Mesenchymal stem cells derived from the human tooth germ (hTGSCs) are a heterogeneous cell population that can differentiate into osteogenic, neurogenic, and adipogenic lineages. The aim of this study was to compare the osteogenic differentiation capacity of STRO-1 positive (STRO-1 +) hTGSCs and unsorted heterogeneous hTGSCs and to establish if STRO-1 + cells are more committed to osteogenic differentiation. HTGSCs were isolated from impacted third molar tooth germ tissues of adolescents, and a subpopulatio...
Influence of zeolite crystal expansion/contraction on NaA zeolite membrane separations
Sorenson, Stephanie G.; Payzant, E. Andrew; Gibbons, William T.; Soydas, Belma; Kita, Hidetoshi; Noble, Richard D.; Falconer, John L. (Elsevier BV, 2011-01-01)
In situ powder XRD measurements showed that adsorption causes the NaA zeolite unit cell to contract or expand, and these changes depend on adsorbate loading. Changes in zeolite crystal size correlated with permeation changes through NaA zeolite membranes. These membranes had high water/alcohol pervaporation selectivities, even though gas permeation was mainly through defects, as indicated by Knudsen selectivities for single gas permeation. At 300 K and a thermodynamic activity of 0.03, water contracted the ...

Influence of the mesenchymal cell source on oral epithelial development
Kinikoglu, Beste; Rovere, Marie Rose; Haftek, Marek; Hasırcı, Vasıf Nejat; Damour, Odile (2012-03-01)
The extent of the influence of mesenchymal tissue on epithelial development is still debated, and elucidation of epithelialmesenchymal interactions should be of relevance for controlling normal as well as pathological growth and development. The aim of the present study was to elucidate the influence of the mesenchymal cell type on oral mucosa epithelial development in vitro, using tissue-engineering principles, by including three different sources for mesenchymal cell type, viz. oral mucosa, skin and corne...
