Predicting eating disturbances in Turkish adult females: Examining the role of intimate partner violence and perfectionism
Muyan, Mine; Chang, Edward C.; Jilani, Zunaira; Yu, Tina (2015-12-01)
We examined the relationships between intimate partner violence (IPV), perfectionism, and eating disturbances, namely, excessive dieting and bulimia, in a sample of 149 Turkish female college students. Results of conducting hierarchical regression analyses indicated that IPV accounted for significant variance in both excessive dieting and bulimic symptoms. The inclusion of perfectionism was found to predict additional variance in eating disturbances, beyond IPV. Specifically, we found parental expectations ...
Predicting financial distress of Turkish non-financial firms: evidence from micro data
Yılmaz, Muhammed Hasan; Ercan, Hakan; Department of Economics (2019)
In this thesis, determinants of financial distress probabilities are analyzed for the period over 2006-2016 by utilizing firm-level and loan-level data sets. To form multivariate specifications, vari...

Our aim is not only to numerically identify the size of the effect to the Turkish system, but to identify the domestic resources that allow the Turkish healthcare system and socie...
Predicting critical thinking skills of university students through metacognitive self regulation skills and chemistry self efficacy
Kondakçı, Esen; Çapa Aydın, Yeşim (2013-01-01)
This study aimed at examining the extent to which metacognitive self-regulation and chemistry self-efficacy predicted critical thinking. Three hundred sixty-five university students participated in the study. Data were collected using appropriate dimensions of Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire and College Chemistry Self-Efficacy Scale. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients ranged from .77 to .88. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results indicated that metacognitive self-regulatio...
