Optimization of the sound source position for shaping acoustically-structurally coupled cavities
Sorguç, Arzu; Shi, Qinzhong; Akagunduz, Haldun (null; 2001-12-01)
In this study, sound field inside acoustically-structurally coupled rectangular cavity excited by structural loading and sound sources is shaped by optimizing the position of the sound source. In the optimization, Most Probable Optimal Design (MPOD) based on Holographic Neural Network is employed and the results are compared with Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP). It is shown that source position, rather than source strength, is more effective in acoustically controlled modes. The nodal positions for i...
Optimization of chemical vapor deposition process parameters for aluminizing
Ertürk, Umutcan; İmer, Muhsine Bilge (2016-08-01)
Ni-based super alloys such as Inconel 738LC, MAR-M-200, CMSX-4 are used in the hot sections of industrial gas turbines due to their excellent mechanical strength and creep resistance at high service temperatures. To protect turbine blades from thermo-mechanical failure, oxidation/corrosion resistant coatings are necessary to extend the life time. For this purpose, diffusion coatings including chromized, siliconized, aluminide coatings have been studied by different groups. Among them, aluminide coatings are...
OPTIMIZATION OF THE VOLUMETRIC HYDROGEN CHEMISORPTION TECHNIQUE FOR DISPERSIONS OF RU/SIO2 CATALYSTS
Üner, Deniz; KING, TS (Elsevier BV, 1995-09-15)
Metal dispersions of silica-supported ruthenium catalysts determined by the standard volumetric chemisorption technique were found to be inaccurate due to irreversible spillover of hydrogen to the support. Direct evidence was obtained via in situ H-1 NMR for an irreversibly bound component of the hydrogen that migrated from the metal to the support on a time scale of tens of minutes or longer at room temperature. It was also shown in this work that hydrogen saturated the surface of the metal particles on a ...
Optimization of the Diff usion Bonding Parameters for 6063 Aluminum Alloy
Atabay, Sila Ece; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi (2016-11-25)
Diffusion bonding (DB) is an important solid state joining process used to produce high quality joints between similar or dissimilar metals. This joining method is preferable to conventional welding, since it does not involve formation of unexpected phases deteriorating the mechanical properties of the joint. DB is also useful to produce complex shaped sheet parts, as it eliminates the problems caused by the presence of liquid metal in brazing. In this study, 6063 aluminum alloy was diffusion bonded, and di...
