Synthesis and Characterization of Fe80B20 Nanoalloys Produced by Surfactant Assisted Ball Milling
Fadaie, Amir; Akdeniz, Mahmut Vedat; Mehrabov, Amdulla (2013-04-24)
In this present study attempts have been made to synthesize Fe80B20 crystalline/amorphous nanocomposite powder by using surfactant-assisted high-energy ball milling. Comparison has been made for the dierences in evolved microstructure via solidication and solid state phase transformation under equilibrium and non- -equilibrium processing conditions. Structural analysis reveal that initially observed Fe2B and Fe3B intermetallic phases tend to disappear even at 1 h milling time and eventually lead to the st...
Synthesis and Characterization of Fe80B20 Nanoalloys Produced by Surfactant Assisted Ball Milling

In this present study attempts have been made to synthesize Fe80B20 crystalline/amorphous nanocomposite powder by using surfactant-assisted high-energy ball milling. Comparison has been made for the differences in evolved microstructure via solidification and solid state phase transformation under equilibrium and non-equilibrium processing conditions. Structural analysis reveal that initially observed Fe2B and Fe3B intermetallic phases tend to disappear even at 1 h milling time and eventually lead to the st...

Synthesis and characterization of sensor microparticles templated from cholesteric liquid crystals
Avşar, Deniz Işınsu; Büküşoğlu, Emre; Department of Chemical Engineering (2020-9)
Structural coloring in nature, especially the crystalline ordering and responsive characteristics of those found in chameleon skins has inspired us to fabricate artificial photonic materials for sensor applications. In the first part of this study, we employed cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) for templated synthesis of polymeric particles with periodic structures that allow visible light to undergo Bragg reflection and performed characterization studies to understand the optical appearance and the interna...
Synthesis and characterization of polypyrrole nanoparticles and their nanocomposites with polypropylene
Baytekin, Sevil; Küçükyavuz, Zuhal; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2009)
Conducting polypyrrole (PPy) nanoparticles were synthesized via microemulsion polymerization system. The characterization of PPy nanoparticles was done by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Nanocomposites were prepared by melt-mixing of polypyrrole with polypropylene (PP) and processed with injection molding. The amount of PPy in nanocomposites varied in the range of 1-20% by weight. The effect of PPy nanoparticles on mechanical, electrical properties and ...
