Synthesis and Characterization of Fe80B20 Nanoalloys Produced by Surfactant Assisted Ball Milling

2013-04-24
In this present study attempts have been made to synthesize Fe80B20 crystalline/amorphous nanocomposite powder by using surfactant-assisted high-energy ball milling. Comparison has been made for the dierences in evolved microstructure via solidication and solid state phase transformation under equilibrium and non- -equilibrium processing conditions. Structural analysis reveal that initially observed Fe2B and Fe3B intermetallic phases tend to disappear even at 1 h milling time and eventually lead to the stabilization of α-Fe nanoparticles and possible formation of amorphous phase by increasing milling time. This resultant structure governs the magnetic behaviour of the Fe80B20 nanoalloy.

Synthesis and characterization of polystyrene clay nanocomposites
Özden, Gülsüm; Yılmazer, Ülkü; Department of Chemical Engineering (2004)
This study was undertaken to prepare polystyrene (PS)/montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites by different methods, including melt intercalation, in-situ polymerization and masterbatch methods. The in-situ polymerization method consisted of dispersing the styrene monomer into the galleries of MMT followed by subsequent polymerization. The PS/MMT nanocomposites formed by melt intercalation method were prepared on a twin-screw extruder. The masterbatch method was in fact a two-step process. As the first step, a ...
Synthesis and Stimuli-Responsive Properties of Metallo-Supramolecular Phosphazene Polymers Based on Terpyridine Metal Complexes
Sezer, Selda; KÖYTEPE, SÜLEYMAN; GÜLTEK, AHMET; SEÇKİN, TURGAY (2021-08-01)
In this study, terpyridine functionalized phosphazene based metallo-supramolecular polymers were synthesized by three step reaction method. In the first step, 4 '-(4-aminophenyl)-2,2 ':6 ',2 ''-terpyridine was synthesized with p-nitro benzaldehyde and 2-acetylpyridine. Then, the monomer containing six terpyridine (TPY) units attached to the phosphazene was prepared from 4 '-(4-aminophenyl)-2,2 ':6 ',2 ''-terpyridine and hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene by a condensation reaction. Finally, metallo-supramolecula...
Synthesis and Characterization of Boron Doped Alumina Stabilized Zirconia Fibers
Uslu, I.; TUNÇ, TUNCAY; Keskin, Serhat; Ozturk, M. K. (2011-06-01)
Boron doped PVA/Zr-Al acetate nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning using PVA as a precursor. The effect of calcination temperature on morphology and crystal structure was investigated at 250, 500, and 800 degrees C. The study also establishes the effect of boron doping on the morphology of PVA/Zr-Al acetate nanofibers at various calcination temperatures. The measurements showed that the conductivity, pH, viscosity and the surface tension of the hybrid polymer solutions have increased with boron dopin...
Synthesis and characterization of nanosized calcium phosphates by flame spray pyrolysis, and their effect on osteogenic differentiation of stem cells
Ataol, Sibel; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Duygulu, Ozgur; Keskin, Dilek; Machin, Nesrin E. (2015-02-14)
The present study evaluates the synthesis of biocompatible osteoconductive and osteoinductive nano calcium phosphate (CaP) particles by industrially applied, aerosol-derived flame spray pyrolysis method for biomedical field. Calcium phosphate nanoparticles were produced in a range of calcium-to-phosphorus ratio, (1.20-2.19) in order to analyze the morphology and crystallinity changes, and to test the bioactivity of particles. The characterization results confirmed that nanometer-sized, spherical calcium pho...
