Investigation of the adsorption of dithiophosphate and dithiophosphinate on chalcopyrite as a function of pulp potential and pH
Güler, Taki; Hiçyılmaz, Cahit; Gökağaç, Gülsün; Department of Mining Engineering (2002)
Pulp potential and pH play important roles on flotation of sulphide ores. These parameters define the redox products formed on sulphide mineral surface. Therefore, it is essential to investigate electrochemical behaviour of sulphide minerals under different conditions. In this research, electrochemical behaviour of chalcopyrite from Artvin- Murgul deposit were investigated in the presence and absence of dithiophosphate (DTP) and dithiophosphinate (DTPI) by cyclic voltammetry and Diffuse Reflectance Infrared...

Investigation of the Ferroelectric Paraelectric Phase Transition in Bulk and Confined Sodium Nitrite
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Informa UK Limited, 2014-7-23)
Levanyuk-Sannikov model is used to describe the ferroelectric-paraelectric transition in bulk and confined sodium nitrite (NaNO2). It is found on the basis of this model that the phase transition of NaNO2 for the bulk material is weakly first order whereas for the confined material it is a second order transition. Calculations are performed and the fitted parameters are obtained using this model for the ferroelectric-paraelectric transition in NaNO2. Our results indicate that the Levanyuk-Sannikov model des...
Investigation of the effects of high hydrostatic pressure on the functional properties of pea protein isolate
Kalayci, Asuhan; Özel, Barış; Öztop, Halil Mecit; Alpas, Hami (2022-01-01)
This study investigates the effects of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) on some functional properties of pea protein isolate (PPI). HHP was combined with various temperature and pH conditions to investigate the combined effects of HHP-based food processing conditions on the functional properties of PPI. Herein, PPI solutions prepared at different pH conditions (3.0, 5.0, and 7.0) were subjected to 300, 400, and 500 MPa HHP treatment at 25 and 50°C for 5 min. Water-holding capacity (WHC), solubility, and emul...
INVESTIGATION OF THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIORS OF PHOTOCATALYTIC NO OXIDATION OVER TiO2
Ernam, Selin; Üner, Deniz; Department of Chemical Engineering (2022-1-12)
The objective of this thesis is to investigate the bottlenecks of photocatalytic NO oxidation reaction. This reaction is used as a standard diagnostic tool for photocatalytic activity according to the well defined protocols described by the ISO Standard (22197-1-2007). One of the problems with photocatalytic NO oxidation is the transient period of NO conversion between the beginning of illumination and the time the conversions reach a steady state. The nature of this behavior depends strongly on parameters ...
