We show that the Milnor fillable contact structures on the links of singularities having resolution graphs from some specific families that have members with arbitrarily large numbers of nodes do not admit weak symplectic fillings having the rational homology of the 4-disk. This result provides further evidence toward the conjecture that no such weak symplectic filling exists once the mininal resolution tree has at least two nodes.

Quasi-fission and fusion-fission reactions in Ca-48+Pb-208 collisions at E-c.m.=190 MeV
Yilmaz, O.; Turan, Gürsevil; Yilmaz, B. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-02-05)
The yields of quasifission fragments in the Ca-48+Pb-208 are investigated in the framework of the stochastic mean field (SMF) approach based on the Skyrme-TDHF calculations. A method which combines the microscopic time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory with a statistical de-excitation model, GEMINI++, is used for calculating the yields of fusion-fission fragments after de-excitation processes of primary reaction products which is assumed to be dominated by neutron emission in the present system. How to model mutually exclusive events based on independent causal pathways in Bayesian network models
Fenton, Norman; Neil, Martin; Lagnado, David; Marsh, William; Yet, Barbaros; Constantinou, Anthony (2016-12-01)
We show that existing Bayesian network (BN) modelling techniques cannot capture the correct intuitive reasoning in the important case when a set of mutually exclusive events need to be modelled as separate nodes instead of states of a single node. A previously proposed 'solution', which introduces a simple constraint node that enforces mutual exclusivity, fails to preserve the prior probabilities of the events, while other proposed solutions involve major changes to the original model. We provide a novel an...
On endomorphisms of surface mapping class groups
Korkmaz, Mustafa (Elsevier BV, 2001-05-01)
In this paper, we prove that every endomorphism of the mapping class group of an orientable surface onto a subgroup of finite index is in fact an automorphism.
Radiative decays of the heavy tensor mesons in light cone QCD sum rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2019-01-11)
The transition form factors of the radiative decays of the heavy tensor mesons to heavy pseudoscalar and heavy vector mesons are calculated in the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules method at the point Q(2) = 0. Using the obtained values of the transition form factors at the point Q(2) = 0, the corresponding decay widths are estimated. The results show that the radiative decays of the heavy-light tensor mesons could potentially be measured in the future planned experiments at LHCb.
Maximally Permissive Hierarchical Control of Decentralized Discrete Event Systems
SCHMİDT, KLAUS WERNER; Schmidt, Klaus Verner (2011-04-01)
The subject of this paper is the synthesis of natural projections that serve as nonblocking and maximally permissive abstractions for the hierarchical and decentralized control of large-scale discrete event systems. To this end, existing concepts for nonblocking abstractions such as natural observers and marked string accepting (msa)-observers are extended by local control consistency (LCC) as a novel sufficient condition for maximal permissiveness. Furthermore, it is shown that, similar to the natural obse...
