Pollen morphology of 10 taxa belonging to Prangos Lindl. and Ekimia H. Duman & M.F. Watson (Umbelliferae) from turkey and its taxonomic significance
Pehlivan, Sevil; Baser, Birol; Cabi, Evren (Bangladesh Journals Online (JOL), 2009-12-5)
Pollen grains of nine taxa of Prangos Lindl. and one of Ekimia H. Duman & M.F. Watson (Umbelliferae) were examined with LM (light microscope) and SEM (scanning electron microscope), and of them four with TEM (transmission electron microscope). The quantitative data were also subjected to cluster analysis. The obtained phenogram revealed that Ekimia bornmuelleri (Hub.-Mor. & Reese) H. Duman & M.F. Watson is strictly different from the taxa of Prangos regarding their quantitative pollen profile; except ...
Pollen morphology of Hymenosphace and Aethiopis sections of the genus Salvia (Lamiaceae) in Turkey
ÖZLER, HÜLYA; PEHLİVAN, SEVİL; Celep, Ferhat; Doğan, Musa; KAHRAMAN, AHMET; Fisne, Ahter Yavru; BAŞER, BİROL; Bagherpour, Safi (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2013-01-01)
Palynological characteristics of 30 Salvia taxa in sections Hymenosphace and Aethiopis from Turkey were investigated by light and scanning electron microscopy. S. aethiopis (sect. Aethiopis) has the smallest pollen while S. blepharochlaena (sect. Hymenosphace) has the largest pollen. The basic shape of the pollen grains in most taxa is suboblate, oblate-spheroidal, or prolate-spheroidal to spheroidal; however, subprolate pollen grains are occasionally are found in S. cassia of sect. Aethiopis. Hexacolpate p...
Pollen morphology of some taxa of Vicia L. subgenus Vicia (Fabaceae) from Turkey
KAHRAMAN, AHMET; Binzat, Okan Kaan; Doğan, Musa (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-11-01)
In this study, the pollen morphology of 11 taxa belonging to Atossa (Alef.) Asch. & Graebner, Hypechusa (Alef.) Asch. & Graebner, Peregrinae Kupicha, Wiggersia (Alef.) Maxted, Vicia L. and Narbonensis (Radzhi) Maxted sections of the genus Vicia L. subgenus Vicia (Fabeae, Fabaceae) naturally growing in Turkey has been studied using Light Microscopy (LM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to evaluate the taxonomic relevance of pollen characters. Twelve morphometric characters are analysed with one-way ana...
Pollen morphology of some taxa of Vicia L. subgenus Vicilla (Schur) Rouy (Fabaceae) from Turkey
Binzat, Okan Kaan; KAHRAMAN, AHMET; Doğan, Musa (2014-10-01)
The pollen morphology of the ten taxa belonging to Cassubicae Radzhi, Cracca Dumort., Ervilia (Link) Koch, Lentopsis Kupicha, Trigonellopsis Rech. f. and Variegatae Radzhi sections of the genus Vicia L. subgenus Vicilla (Schur) Rouy (Fabeae, Fabaceae) in Turkey has been examined by use of light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Twelve morphometric characters are analysed with one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's honestly significant difference test for multiple comparisons. Polar axis and equ...
Pollen morphology of the genus Lamium L. (Lamiaceae) and its systematic implications
Atalay, Zeynep; CELEP, FERHAT; BİLGİLİ, BİLGEHAN; Doğan, Musa (2016-01-01)
This is the first comprehensive palynological investigation of the genus Lamium. The pollen morphology of 48 taxa (including species, subspecies and varieties) of the genus Lamium was investigated and documented using light microscopy (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Lamium pollen is small to medium sized (I) = 21.65-39.96 mu m), oblate-spheroidal to subprolate in shape and tricolpate. Three major exine sculpturing patterns (reticulate, granulate and microreticulate) were observed. The results i...
