Structure-impact sensitivity relation of some substituted 1,3,5-trinitrobenzenes
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2005-07-11)
Structure-impact sensitivity relation of some substituted 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene type explosives is investigated by using a topological approach. It has been found that the sensitivity increases with decreasing of a previously defined upper bound (U) of the deepest lying molecular orbital energy, x(1), or the fourth coefficient (a(4)) of the secular polynomial of the molecular graph of the isoconjugate hydrocarbon system within the Huckel molecular orbital framework.
Structure and performance of generalized quasi-cyclic codes
Guneri, Cem; Özbudak, Ferruh; Ozkaya, Buket; Sacikara, Elif; SEPASDAR, Zahra; SOLÉ, Patrick (2017-09-01)
Generalized quasi-cyclic (GQC) codes form a natural generalization of quasi-cyclic (QC) codes. They are viewed here as mixed alphabet codes over a family of ring alphabets. Decomposing these rings into local rings by the Chinese Remainder Theorem yields a decomposition of GQC codes into a sum of concatenated codes. This decomposition leads to a trace formula, a minimum distance bound, and to a criteria for the GQC code to be self-dual or to be linear complementary dual (LCD). Explicit long GQC codes that ar...
Structure preserving reduced order modeling for gradient systems
Akman Yildiz, Tugba; UZUNCA, MURAT; Karasözen, Bülent (2019-04-15)
Minimization of energy in gradient systems leads to formation of oscillatory and Turing patterns in reaction-diffusion systems. These patterns should be accurately computed using fine space and time meshes over long time horizons to reach the spatially inhomogeneous steady state. In this paper, a reduced order model (ROM) is developed which preserves the gradient dissipative structure. The coupled system of reaction-diffusion equations are discretized in space by the symmetric interior penalty discontinuous...
Structure-preserving reduced-order modeling of Korteweg–de Vries equation
Uzunca, Murat; Karasözen, Bülent; Yıldız, Süleyman (2021-10-01)
Computationally efficient, structure-preserving reduced-order methods are developed for the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equations in Hamiltonian form. The semi-discretization in space by finite differences is based on the Hamiltonian structure. The resulting skew-gradient system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is integrated with the linearly implicit Kahan's method, which preserves the Hamiltonian approximately. We have shown, using proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), the Hamiltonian structure of t...
Structure sensitivity of selective CO oxidation over Pt/gamma-Al2O3
Atalik, B.; Üner, Deniz (Elsevier BV, 2006-07-25)
In this study, the effect of particle size on the reaction rate and selectivity of preferential oxidation of CO (PROX) reaction was investigated on 2 wt% Pt/-Al2O3 catalysts prepared by an incipient wetness technique. The particle size of the catalysts was modified by calcination temperature and duration. CO oxidation and preferential CO oxidation reaction were studied on these catalysts at lambda = 2 (P-O2/P-CO) = 1. The CO oxidation reaction activation energy decreased with increasing particle size, consi...
