Plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance conferred by qnrS1 in Salmonella enterica serovar Virchow isolated from Turkish food of avian origin
Avsaroglu, M. D.; Helmuth, R.; Junker, E.; Hertwig, S.; Schroeter, A.; Akcelik, M.; Bozoglu, F.; Guerra, B. (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2007-11-01)
Objectives: To study the molecular characteristics of the quinolone and associated ampicillin resistance mechanisms present in Salmonella enterica serovar Virchow isolated from Turkish foods.
Plasmon-enhanced fluorescence in gold nanorod-quantum dot coupled systems
Trotsiuk, Liudmila; Muravitskaya, Alina; Kulakovich, Olga; Guzatov, Dmitry; Ramanenka, Andrey; Keleştemur, Yusuf; Demir, Hilmi; Gaponenko, Sergey (2020-03-01)
Plasmon-exciton coupling is of great importance to many optical devices and applications. One of the coupling manifestations is plasmon-enhanced fluorescence. Although this effect is demonstrated in numerous experimental and theoretical works, there are different particle shapes for which this effect is not fully investigated. In this work electrostatic complexes of gold nanorods and CdSe/CdZnS quantum dots were studied. Double-resonant gold nanorods have an advantage of the simultaneous enhancement of the ...
PLASMID PATTERNS OF BACILLUS-THURINGIENSIS 81 AND ITS CRYSTAL-NEGATIVE MUTANTS
AFKHAMI, P; Özcengiz, Gülay; ALAEDDINOGLU, NG (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1993-12-01)
A local isolate of Bacillus thuringiensis (B.t. 81) contained five distinct plasmids Relative amounts of these plasmids varied at different stages of growth. Two Cry- mutants of the strain maintained all plasmids. The mutants, however, exhibited some variations in the patterns of large plasmids depending on the composition of culture medium even though they failed to produce crystal protein. Restriction analysis of the plasmids was also carried out for future cloning studies.
Plasmonic-photonic arrays with aperiodic spiral order for ultra-thin film solar cells
Trevino, Jacob; Forestiere, Carlo; Dİ MARTİNO, Giuliana; Yerci, Selçuk; Priolo, Francesco; Dal Negro, Luca (2012-05-07)
We report on the design, fabrication and measurement of ultrathin film Silicon On Insulator (SOI) Schottky photo-detector cells with nanostructured plasmonic arrays, demonstrating broadband enhanced photocurrent generation using aperiodic golden angle spiral geometry. Both golden angle spiral and periodic arrays of various center-to-center particle spacing were investigated to optimize the photocurrent enhancement. The primary photocurrent enhancement region is designed for the spectral range 600nm-950nm, w...
