Optimization of supercritical CO2 extraction of Thymbra spicata oil
Sonsuzer, S; Şahin, Serpil; Yılmaz, Levent (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-01)
The supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of aroma compounds from Thymbra spicata was studied. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the parameters of the supercritical fluid extraction. Independent variables were temperature (40, 50 and 60 degreesC), pressure (80, 100 and 120 bar) and time (30, 60 and 90 min). Dependent variables were yield, monoterpene, sesquiterpene and oxygenated monoterpene contents.
Optimization of microwave frying of osmotically dehydrated potato slices by using response surface methodology
Öztop, Halil Mecit; Şahin, Serpil; Şümnü, Servet Gülüm (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-04-01)
Microwave frying of osmotically dehydrated potatoes was optimized by using response surface methodology. Osmotic dehydration was applied prior to microwave frying in order to reduce oil uptake and to evaluate the effect of osmotic dehydration on quality of microwave fried potatoes. Moisture content, oil content, hardness and color of the fried potatoes were used as quality parameters. Microwave power level (400, 550, 700 W), frying time (1.5, 2.0, 2.5 min) and osmotic dehydration time (15, 30, 45 min) were ...
Optimization of XNOR Convolution for Binary Convolutional Neural Networks on GPU
Kaya, Mete Can; İnci, Alperen; Temizel, Alptekin (2020-10-09)
Binary convolutional networks have lower computational load and lower memory foot-print compared to their full-precision counterparts. So, they are a feasible alternative for the deployment of computer vision applications on limited capacity embedded devices. Once trained on less resourceconstrained computational environments, they can be deployed for real-time inference on such devices. In this study, we propose an implementation of binary convolutional network inference on GPU by focusing on optimization ...
Optimization of ethanol-water extraction of lignans from flaxseed
Zhang, Zhen-Shan; Li, Dong; Wang, Li-Jun; Özkan, Necati; Chen, Xiao Dong; Mao, Zhi-Huai; Yang, Hong-Zhi (2007-10-01)
The optimal conditions for the extraction of lignans from flaxseed were determined. A second-order regression for rotation-orthogonal composite design was used to investigate the effects of three independent variables, namely ethanol concentration (%), extraction temperature (degrees C, and extraction time (h) on the response, the acquired ratio of lignans. The independent variables were coded at five levels and their actual values selected on the basis of results of single-factor experiment. The second-ord...
