EVALUATION OF SUSTAINABILITY IN HOSPITALITY SECTOR IN TURKEY AND COMPARATIVE LIFECYCLE ASSESSMENTS OF ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Akdemir Yılmaz, Kadriye; Elias Özkan, Soofia Tahira; Department of Building Science in Architecture (2022-5-11)
Currently, one of the most important factors influencing the future of the world is tourism, due to its negative effects on the natural environment and consumption of natural resources. The tourism sector, which offers its guests natural and cultural beauties in the region where it is located, will not be able to survive if the potential danger to natural environment and resources is not halted. Statistical modeling of hourly electricity load series in Turkey
Özpala, Pınar; Gaygısız Lajunen, Esma; Department of Economics (2013)
This study investigates Heterogeneous Double Seasonal ARIMA model, Heterogeneous Periodic AR model and a nonlinear model of Multiple Regime Logistic STAR model by application of hourly electricity load data between years 2006-2007 in Turkey. Forecast results suggest that Heterogeneous Double Seasonal ARIMA model is the best among three methods forecasting up to one day.
Comparison of energy consumption and carbon footprint of wastewater treatment systems through modeling
Okan, Bora; Ergüder Bayramoğlu, Tuba Hande.; Department of Environmental Engineering (2019)
With increasing population and developing regulations, wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) have started to become a higher energy consuming sector in order to serve higher capacities. In the design and management phases of a treatment plant, energy consumption and carbon footprint of the plant should be considered. In this regard, hypothetical and real case models are created to simulate and compare WWTP systems. In this thesis study, first, municipal WWTPs of Turkey were analyzed to determine the traditiona...
