We report white-light-emitting Mn-doped ZnSe nanocrystals (NCs) that are synthesized using modified nucleation doping strategy. Tailoring three distinct emission mechanisms in these NCs, which are MnSe-related blue emission (410 and 435 nm), Zn-related defect state green emission (520 nm), and Mn-dopant related orange emission (580 nm), allowed us to achieve excitation wavelength tailorable white-light generation as studied by steady state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. These NCs will be promising as single component white-light engines for solid-state lighting.

Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of PZT ceramics doped with strontium and lanthanum
Kalem, Volkan; Çam, İbrahim; Timucin, Muharrem (Elsevier BV, 2011-05-01)
PZT based piezoelectric ceramics obtained by doping with various levels of Sr2+ and La3+, designated as PSLZT, were prepared by conventional processing techniques. The effects of Sr2+ and La3+ additions, and that of the Zr/Ti ratio on microstructure, on phase constitution, and on the dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. XRD data revealed that all PSLZT compositions had perovskite structure in which increasing Sr and/or decreasing Zr/Ti ratio increased the tetragonality. In PSLZT cerami...
Sol-gel synthesis and photocatalytic activity of B and Zr co-doped TiO2
Kapusuz, Derya; PARK, JONGEE; Öztürk, Abdullah (Elsevier BV, 2013-07-01)
Effects of boron (B) and/or zirconium (Zr) doping on photocatalytic activity of sol-gel derived titania (TiO2) powders were investigated. A conventional, non-hydrous sol-gel technique was applied to synthesize the B, Zr doped/co-doped TiO2 powders. Doping was made at molar ratios of Ti/B=1 and Ti/Zr=10. Sol-gel derived xero-gels were calcined at 500 degrees C for 3 h. The crystal chemistry and the morphology of the undoped and B, Zr doped/co-doped TiO2 nanoparticles were investigated using X-ray diffractome...
Synthesis and investigation of optical properties of Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+ single doped, Ce3+/ Dy3+ codoped, Ce3+/Dy3+/ Eu3+ triple doped and Yb3+ single doped, Ce3+/Tb3+/ Yb3+ triple doped GDBO3

The effect of triple doping in photoluminescence has been investigated in recent years, and it could utilize the compounds in terms of some demands. The photoluminescence activity of the materials can be used for quantum cutting solar cells, white light-emitting diodes, flat display panels, optical thermometer, or for the purpose of biosensor, etc. Single doped Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+, Yb3+ doped, and Ce3+/Dy3+ codoped, Dy3+/Ce3+/Eu3+ and Tb3+/Ce3+/Yb3+ triple doped GdBO3 nanocompounds were synthesized by sol-gel ...
Phase equilibrium of asymmetric systems by predictive equations of state models
Orbey, H; Balci, C; Guruz, GA (2002-03-06)
In this study the modified Wong-Sandler (WS), the modified Huron-Vidal second-order (MHV2), and the Orbey-Sandler (HVOS) mixing rules were used for phase equilibrium correlation of carbon dioxide in n-alkanes, alcohols and water systems. Their correlative and predictive capabilities were compared. In all of these calculations, the Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera (PRSV) equation of state (EOS) was used. It was found that the correlation capacity of the WS mixing rule is better than the HVOS mixing rule. The MHV2 ...
Enantioselective reduction of ketones with borane catalyzed by cyclic β- amino alcohols prepared from proline
Demir, Ayhan S; Mecitoglu, Idris; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Gülbeyaz, Volkan (Elsevier BV, 1996-12)
New catalysts have been prepared from (S)- and (R)- proline and the asymmetric borane reduction of prochiral ketones using these catalysts has been studied. The secondary alcohols were obtained in 76-95% yield with 57-96% enantiomeric excesses. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
