00 SWITCHING LUMPED CONTROLS
Hamidoglu, Ali (2015-01-01)
In this article, we consider the 1-d heat equation endowed with arbitrary number (finite) of lumped controls and under suitable conditions, we show that our approach allows building switching controls. For achieving this goal, we first introduce a new functional based on the adjoint system whose minimizers yield the switching controls. We show that, due to the time analyticity of the solutions, under suitable conditions on the location of the controllers, lumped switching controls exist in the 1-d heat equa...
20-20-20 objective of the EU and situation of Turkey
Kurtulan, İbrahim; Sevaioğlu, Osman; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
European Union climate and energy package, known as “20-20-20 objective”, is a highly ambitious agreement among the member countries of the European Union that mainly focuses on greenhouse gas emission, renewable energy and energy efficiency. After tough negotiations between members, the agreement was adopted at the European Council and voted and accepted by the European Parliament on December 2008. According to the agreement, first target is at least 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emission of the European...

60 GHz PHY Performance Evaluation with 3D Ray Tracing under Human Shadowing
Genc, Zulkuf; Wim Van Thillo, Wim Van Thillo; Bourdoux, Andre; Onur, Ertan (2012-04-01)
This work evaluates the system-level performance of 60 GHz channels by simulating a realistic living room scenario with various numbers of humans and three different antenna configurations. In the first step, a comprehensive ray tracing study with a 3D ray tracing tool is performed to determine the channel impulse responses. Feeding our PHY simulator with the collected channel responses, the performance figures are generated over received SNR. It was observed that for a satisfactory BER performance, a direc...
