Final results on neutrino oscillation parameters from the OPERA experiment in the CNGS beam
Agafonova, N.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2019-09-06)
© 2019 authors. Published by the American Physical Society. The OPERA experiment has conclusively observed the appearance of tau neutrinos in the muon neutrino CNGS beam. Exploiting the OPERA detector capabilities, it was possible to isolate high purity samples of νe, νμ and ντ charged current weak neutrino interactions, as well as neutral current weak interactions. In this paper, the full dataset is used for the first time to test the three-flavor neutrino oscillation model and to derive constraints on the ...
Final Results of the OPERA Experiment on nu(tau )Appearance In the CNGS Neutrino Beam
Agafonova, N.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2018-05-22)
The OPERA experiment was designed to study νμ→ντ oscillations in the appearance mode in the CERN to Gran Sasso Neutrino beam (CNGS). In this Letter, we report the final analysis of the full data sample collected between 2008 and 2012, corresponding to 17.97×1019 protons on target. Selection criteria looser than in previous analyses have produced ten ντ candidate events, thus reducing the statistical uncertainty in the measurement of the oscillation parameters and of ντ properties. A multivariate approach fo...

Final results of V̄e - e scattering cross-section measurements and constraints on new physics
Deniz, Muhammed; Bilmiş, Selçuk; Wong, Henry T (2012-01-01)
The (nu) over bar (e) - e elastic scattering cross-section was measured with a CsI(Tl) scintillating crystal detector array with a total mass of 187 kg at the Kuo-Sheng Nuclear Power Station. The detectors were exposed to a reactor (nu) over bar (e) flux of 6.4 x 10(12) cm(-2)s(-1) originated from a core with 2.9 GW thermal power. Using 29882/7369 kg-days of Reactor ON/OFF data, the Standard Model (SM) of electroweak interaction was probed at the 4-momentum transfer range of Q(2) similar to 3 x 10(-6) GeV2....
Advanced attitude determination algorithm for arase: Preliminary mission experience
Söken, Halil Ersin; Asamura, Kazushi; Nakamura, Yosuke; Takashima, Takeshi (2018-01-01)
© 2018 Univelt Inc. All rights reserved.JAXA’s ERG (Exploration of Energization and Radiation in Geospace) Spacecraft, which is nicknamed Arase, was launched on 20 December 2016. Arase is a spin-stabilized and Sun-oriented spacecraft. Its mission is exploring how relativistic electrons in the radiation belts are generated during space storms. Two different on-ground attitude determination algorithms have been designed for the mission: a conventional straightforward algorithm that inherits from old missions ...
