Oxidation States and the Acidity of Ordered Arrays of Co-Pb Mixed Oxide Nanoparticles Templated in SBA15
Yılmaz, Ayşen; Can, Mukaddes; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Üner, Deniz (2008-08-01)
Co, Pb and CoPb containing SBA15 mesoporous materials were prepared by direct synthesis method. When Co and Pb were loaded simultaneously, nanoparticles were formed in the channels of SBA15 as observed by transmission electron microscopy. These nanoparticles blocked the pores and decreased the apparent surface areas indicated by BET analysis. Pyridine adsorption on these catalysts revealed that while monometallic additions did not influence the overall acidity of SBA15, in the bimetallic system, characteris...
Reaction kinetics of calcium chloride - ammonia reactive system and theoretical simulation of heat and mass transfer in porous slab pellets
Karakaş Helvacı, Zeynep; Uludağ, Yusuf; Karakaş, Gürkan; Department of Chemical Engineering (2023-1-24)
The reactive systems between ammoniated CaCl2 and NH3 were investigated in terms of heat and mass transport phenomena coupled with reaction kinetics. The reversible reaction rate based on the Langmuir-Hinshelwood model was suggested to express the net reaction rate, including both the adsorption and desorption terms. Experiments at three temperatures were conducted to evaluate the kinetic parameters, pre-exponential factors, and activation energies. The parameters were evaluated by Non-Linear Regression (NL...
Oxidation Behavior of Light Crude Oil and Its SARA Fractions Characterized by TG and DSC Techniques: Differences and Connections
Yuan, Chengdong; Varfolomeev, Mikhail A.; Emelianov, Dmitrii A.; Eskin, Aleksey A.; Nagrimanov, Ruslan N.; Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Afanasiev, Igor S.; Fedorchenko, Gennadii D.; Kopylova, Elena V. (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2018-01-01)
This research is intended to reveal the difference and connection of oxidation behavior between crude oil and its SARA fractions. Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques were used to characterize oxidation behavior. The results showed that the oxidation behavior of individual SARA components exhibited an obvious difference. Saturates showed a weak high-temperature oxidation (HTO) region. Asphaltenes generated more heat in HTO than in the low-temperature oxidation (LTO) r...
