Sahip Bakım Kalitesini İyileştirmeye Yönelik Olarak Köpek Aktivite Takip Sistemlerinin Potansiyellerinin Keşfedilmesi

As with the proliferation of the Internet of Things [IoT], wearable technologies are expanding to include animals promising to enrich the everyday lives of both humans and animals through the smart experiences they offer. Among the variety of IoT devices on the market, activity monitoring systems are among the most popular ones. Both the number of activity monitoring systems intended for animal use and their users has grown in the last decade and is expected to do so in the upcoming years. However, despite the increasing number of user research studies on such technologies for humans, there is a limited number of studies on dog activity monitoring systems and their impact on both carers’ lifestyles and their awareness of their dogs. In this extended abstract, the emerging agenda for my Ph.D. study is presented. The study's main aim is to identify the effects of using dog activity monitoring technologies on the human-dog relationship, the dimensions of the interaction with these technologies, and the potentials of them to support human caregiving of dogs through a longitudinal study. Based on the findings and insights that will be gained throughout the study, it is aimed to develop a theoretical model on how dog activity monitoring systems can mediate the human-dog relationship to support human caregiving of dogs.
