A comparative study on the effects of glucose monohydrate, hot water, and sodium pyrophosphate on quality parameters and microbial flora of deboned and matured brisket
Göğüş, Uğur; BOZOGLU, F.; Alpas, Hami (Wiley, 2007-09-01)
Organic acids, hot water (HW), and chlorine have been commonly used incarcass decontamination for years. However, it has been observed that organic acids have adverse effects on color and are corrosive, while HW is discoloring. On the other hand, glucose fermentation by lactic acid bacteria in meat during the rigor period might be effective in microbial inhibition, without producing an adverse effect on the organoleptic quality of meat. Therefore study, briskets were treated with 6 different applications: D...
A MECHANISTIC STUDY ON THE POLYMERIZATION OF N-BUTYL ISOCYANATE BY PRUITT-BAGGETT ADDUCT
YILMAZ, O; Usanmaz, Ali; ALYURUK, K (Elsevier BV, 1992-11-01)
The mechanism of the polymerization of n-butyl isocyanate by the Pruitt-Baggett adduct (PBA) was studied; on the basis of the experimental evidences, a coordinated mechanism was proposed and verified. This mechanism considers a monatomic active site, which is the Fe atom of PBA with Lewis acid character. The N atom of the isocyanate monomer is coordinated by the Fe atom and the resultant positive charge is transmitted to another N atom which covalently binds the growing chain to the active centre. Thus the ...
A STUDY OF IMPURITY EFFECT ON ORDERING CHARACTERISTICS OF FE3AL INTERMETALLICS
Mehrabov, Amdulla; Ozturk, T (Elsevier BV, 1994-03-01)
A study is carried out into energetical and structural characteristics of atomic ordering processes in Fe3Al. The statistico-thermodynamical theory of ordering by a quasichemical method is combined with the electronic theory of alloys in pseudopotential approximation in order to predict impurity effects on DO3 double-line arrow pointing left and right B2 phase transition temperature and the characteristics of atomic short-range order in Fe3Al-type intermetallics. Impurity elements in Fe3(Al, Me) Me-Cr, Si, ...

A Study of Crystallization in Plasma Modified Polypropylene
Mansuroglu, Dogan; Mecit, Giray; Uzun Kaymak, İlker Ümit (2019-01-01)
A capacitively coupled radio-frequency plasma discharge is used to improve the surface properties of Polypropylene. The changes in the surfaces are investigated for various plasma discharge parameters. After the plasma modification, the polypropylene material transforms into a para-crystalline form and shows the properties of the monoclinic crystals dominantly, observed using the X-ray diffraction measurements. The results indicate significant improvements in the crystallinity after the plasma exposure. The...
