The purpose of the current study is to investigate the mediating role of relationship satisfaction in the relationship between commitment and emotional manipulation. The participants of the current study consist of 221 dating couples (N=442) who are in the period of emerging adulthood between the ages of 18 to 29, and who have been dating for at least 6 months. The convenience sampling technique was utilized. Turkish version of the Investment Model Scale, the Turkish version of the Emotional Manipulation Scale, and the Demographic and Relational Information Form were administered to collect the data. In the proposed model, the mediating role of relationship satisfaction in the relationship between commitment and emotional manipulation was investigated. To test the current model, Actor-Partner Interdependence Mediation Model (APIMeM) was conducted. The results of the analyses suggested that the relationship between v commitment and emotional manipulation was partially mediated via relationship satisfaction for both partners. The results of the current study were discussed in light of the literature, implications for theory and practice were given, and recommendations for further research were elaborated.
