Patients with borderline personality disorder are a population for whom mental health professionals have difficulty in both diagnosing and providing treatment services. This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Screening Instrument for Borderline Personality Disorder (SI-Bord) in a Turkish sample. Participants were invited to study via online methods between August 2020 and October 2020. Data were collected from 661 participants ranging between the ages of 18 and 67 (Mean = 35.99). This study demonstrated that the Turkish version of SI-Bord is a valid and reliable measure to evaluate borderline personality disorder, which is encountered in clinical practice both as a comorbid disorder and as a unique diagnosis requiring a differential diagnosis.

Psychometric Properties of The Turkish Version of The International Trauma Questionnaire
Gundogmus, Ibrahim; Unsal, Cansu; Alma Uzuntuna, Leyla; Par, Asuhan (2023-02-01)
In clinical practice, there is a need for a measurement tool that can support the diagnosis of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD). The present study investigates the psychometric properties of the Turkish Version of the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ), the first scale developed for PTSD and CPTSD diagnosis purposes. The sample for this study comprised 395 participants recruited from the clinical sample (n = 112) and community (n = 283). After identifying the best fitting ...

This study examines the perspectives of Turkish people with schizophrenia on how they view the impact of the illness on their lives, the societal reactions and attitudes to schizophrenia and whether they...
Effective connectivity model differences of emotion regulation in major depressive disorder: dynamic causal modeling analysis
Özaydın, Mustafa; Çakır, Murat Perit; Department of Cognitive Sciences (2021-9)
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a mental disorder and one of the most critical and prevalent disorders in the world. Unlike other diseases, the diagnosis of mental disorders does not easily conform to objective tests. Medical experts consider several indicators to be able to distinguish a depressed person from a normal individual, and finding robust markers to aid diagnosis is still an active area of research. The recent proliferation of neuroimaging methods has brought up new opportunities in that regar...
Diagnostic prediction model development using data from dried blood spot proteomics and a digital mental health assessment to identify major depressive disorder among individuals presenting with low mood.
Han, SYS; Tomasik, J; Rustogi, N; Lago, SG; Barton-Owen, G; Eljasz, P; Cooper, JD; Özcan Kabasakal, Süreyya; Olmert, T; Farrag, LP; Friend, LV; Bell, E; Cowell, D; Thomas, G; Tuytten, R; Bahn, S (Elsevier BV, 2020-11-01)
With less than half of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) correctly diagnosed within the primary care setting, there is a clinical need to develop an objective and readily accessible test to enable earlier and more accurate diagnosis. The aim of this study was to develop diagnostic prediction models to identify MDD patients among individuals presenting with subclinical low mood, based on data from dried blood spot (DBS) proteomics (194 peptides representing 115 proteins) and a novel digital menta...
Psychometric properties of the Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ) in Turkish samples
Sarisoy-Aksut, Gizem; Gençöz, Tülin (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-01-02)
Intrapersonal emotion regulation is accepted to have an important role on mental health. However, research investigating the effects of interpersonal emotion regulation on mental health is still in its infancy. The objective of the current study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ) in Turkish samples. For this purpose, IERQ was translated into Turkish and psychometric properties of the scale were examined in two different samples. Struct...
