“Freud'dan Lacan'a Vaka İncelemeleri” Freud'un kaleme aldığı vakalar için Lacan'ın yaptığı değerlendirmeleri ve Lacanyen kuramı geniş bir biçimde ele alan ilk eser niteliğindedir. İki ciltlik bu çalışma, psikanaliz çalışmaları başta olmak üzere, ilgili alanlar için de geniş bir kavramsal derleme sunmaktadır. Lacan “Freud'a dönüş hareketi” olarak ilan ettiği çalışmalarında, arzu çalışmasının temel olarak alındığı psikanaliz pratiğinin amacını ve çerçevesini yeniden inşa etmiştir. “Bilinçdışı dil gibi yapılanmıştır” savıyla yola çıkan Lacan, Freud'un vakalarını dile verdiği önemle ve öznelliği merkeze koyan perspektifiyle bir kez daha yorumlamıştır. Psikanaliz klinik tecrübelerin üzerine inşa edilmiştir, bu nedenle vaka incelemeleri psikanalizi çalışmanın önemli bir yoludur. Nitekim bu çalışmalar vasıtasıyla, bir özne olarak yaptığımız yolculukta bilinçdışına biraz daha yaklaşmanın yollarını keşfetmeye başlayabiliriz.
