© 2022 Cognitive Science Society LLC.Cognitive science was established as an interdisciplinary domain of research in the 1970s. Since then, the domain has flourished, despite disputes concerning its interdisciplinarity. Multiple methods exist for the assessment of interdisciplinary research. The present study proposes a methodology for quantifying interdisciplinary aspects of research in cognitive science. We propose models for text similarity analysis that provide helpful information about the relationship between publications and their specific research fields, showing potential as a robust measure of interdisciplinarity. We designed and developed models utilizing the Doc2Vec method for analyzing cognitive science and related fields. Our findings reveal that cognitive science collaborates closely with most constituent disciplines. For instance, we found a balanced engagement between several constituent fields-including psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and computer science-that contribute significantly to cognitive science. On the other hand, anthropology and neuroscience have made limited contributions. In our analysis, we find that the scholarly domain of cognitive science has been exhibiting overt interdisciplinary for the past several decades.

Multidimensional approach to link between trust and health before and after COVID-19: Nationwide investigations based on social capital theory
TOSYALI, AHMET FURKAN; Öner Özkan, Bengi; Harma, Mehmet; Department of Psychology (2022-5)
The current research was part of a larger project, funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), examining the link between psychosocial factors and health-related outcomes. A pilot study showed that the items could adequately be used, and bivariate relationships were consistent with the hypotheses. In Study 1, the hypotheses were examined in a representative sample of the Turkish population. Bonding and linking aspects were positively related to SRH; however, bridging asp...

Multilevel analysis of students science achievement in relation to constructivist learning environment perceptions, epistemological beliefs, self-regulation and science teachers characteristics
Pamuk, Savaş; Çakıroğlu, Jale; Öztekin, Ceren; Department of Elementary Education (2014)
This study aimed to examine student science achievement in relation to constructivist learning environment perceptions, epistemological beliefs, self-regulation and science teacher characteristics. Data were collected using a battery of instruments administered to both 137 science teachers and their 3281 seventh grade students in Ankara, Turkey. Several Hierarchical Linear Modeling analyses were conducted to analyze the two level-data which were student-level that were self-regulation (i.e., self-efficacy, ...
