Multiple window detectors
Sipahigil, Oktay; Çiloğlu, Tolga; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2010)
Energy or DFT detector using a fixed window size is very efficient when signal start time and duration is matched with that of the window's. However, in the case of unknown signal duration, the performance of this detector decreases. For this scenario, a detector system composed of multiple windows may be preferred. Window sizes of such a system will also be fixed beforehand but they will be different from each other. Therefore, one of the windows will better match the signal duration, giving better detecti...
Multiple target localization & data association for frequency-only widely separated MIMO radar
Kalkan, Yilmaz; Baykal, Buyurman (Elsevier BV, 2014-02-01)
The multiple target localization using only Doppler frequencies in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar is a problem of great interest. The Doppler frequencies include all relevant information about the location, velocity and direction of the targets. Hence, these frequencies can be used efficiently for data association and target localization. The MIMO configuration and the frequency diversity of the system enable us to easily determine the number of moving targets using only the Doppler frequencies...
Multiple Sound Source Localization with Rigid Spherical Microphone Arrays via Residual Energy Test
Coteli, Mert Burkay; Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin (2019-05-01)
The estimation of the directions-of-arrival (DOAs) of multiple sound sources is a fundamental stage in acoustic scene analysis. Many application areas such as robot audition and object-based audio (OBA) broadcast require that DOA estimation is computationally efficient to allow real-time operation. We propose a new DOA estimation approach based on a sparse representation of recorded sound fields as a linear combination of spatially bandlimited impulses in this paper. The proposed algorithm operates on a tim...
Multiple stationary filamentary states in a planar dc-driven gas discharge-semiconductor system
Rafatov, İsmail (2016-12-01)
Formation of stationary current filaments is studied in a planar layered structure of gas discharge coupled to a high-Ohmic semiconductor and driven by a stationary voltage (the gas discharge-semiconductor system, GDSS). The simulations are carried out in 2D. The model is based on the diffusion-drift theory of gas discharges. Multiple steady-state solutions in GDSS are found for the first time. The computed discharge parameters are found to be in reasonable agreement with the experiment. Results support the...
Multiple Description Coding Based Compress-and-Forward for the Broadcast Relay Channel
Yildirim, Seckin Anil; Yüksel Turgut, Ayşe Melda (2012-01-01)
In this work, the broadcast relay channel (BRC) with one source, two destinations and a dedicated relay node is studied for both discrete memoryless and Gaussian channels. Unlike all the existing achievability schemes, which use decode-and-forward (DF) relaying for the BRC, the new achievability schemes are based on compress-and-forward (CF). Three different compression methods are proposed: naive, joint and multiple description coding based. In naive CF (nCF) and joint CF (jCF), the relay forms a single re...
