Evaluation of compression algorithms for motion command generation
Yaman, Ulaş; Dölen, Melik (2011-04-15)
This paper focuses on a direct command generation technique for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine systems. In this paradigm, higher-order differences of a given trajectory (i.e, position) are computed and the resulting data are compacted via data compression techniques. As a part of the command generation scheme, the paper also introduces a new data compression technique titled ΔY10. Apart from this new method, the performances of the proposed generator employing different compression algorithms (suc...
INFLUENCE OF BORON AND/OR ZIRCONIUM DOPING ON MORPHOLOGY AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF TITANIA
Kapusuz, Derya; PARK, JONGEE; Öztürk, Abdullah (2011-09-23)
Sol-gel derived B (boron) and Zr (zirconium) doped TiO2 (Titania) nanoparticles were synthesized. Microstructural, photocatalytic and crystallographic properties of the doped particles were investigated. Highest photocatalytic activity was achieved by 10 wt% Zr doping. 5 wt% doping was the optimum value for effective B doping. B ions were found to form oxygen vacancies behaving as interstitial defects whereas Zr ions substituted Ti4+ ions in the lattice.
Boron removal from aqueous solutions via polymer enhanced ultrafiltration using novel Imino-bis-propane diol functional polymers
Zerze, Hasan; Özbelge, H. Önder; Yılmaz, Levent; Department of Chemical Engineering (2012)
In this work, newly synthesized poly (vinyl amino-N, N’-bis-propane diol) (GPVA) and copolymer, poly (vinyl amino-N, N’-bis-propane diol-co-DADMAC) (GPVA-co-DADMAC) were efficiently exploited for boron removal via polymer enhanced ultrafiltration (PEUF). Boron concentration could be reduced from 10ppm down to 0.4ppm using GPVA whereas it could be reduced from 10ppm down to 0.8ppm with copolymer GPVA-co-DADMAC at pH 9 and loading (boron-to-polymer mass ratio) 0.001 via continuous polymer enhanced ultrafiltra...

Investigation of neutron sensitivity of un-doped and Dy-doped CaB4O7 for thermoluminescence applications
Iflazoglu, Sera; Yılmaz, Ayşen; KAFADAR, VURAL EMİR; YAZICI, AHMET NECMEDDİN (2018-09-01)
In this study, thermoluminescence characteristics of un-doped and Dy-doped calcium tetraborate (CaB4O7) compounds are reported. The polycrystalline powder samples of un-doped and Dy-doped CaB4O7 were prepared by a solid-state reaction at high-temperature method. The identification and characteristics of the obtained compounds were determined by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared analysis, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and scanning electron microscopy. The glow curves ...
