This study introduces a hybrid reservoir simulation method and explores its practical application in the context of gas condensate reservoirs. The method's potential and limitations are evaluated by comparing it with the traditional two-phase gas condensate model using the finite volume method. The methodology employs material balance equations to compute the average reservoir pressure and saturation. Subsequently, these values are propagated across the reservoir using the analytical flow model, while taking into account well placements. The finite volume model is additionally developed as a benchmark model for the sake of comparison. The validity of the finite volume model is established through a comparison with Eclipse simulation software. In order to facilitate the model's development, it also addresses single-phase flow and Buckley-Leverett problems. The proposed simulation method calculates the pressure and saturation distributions with considerable deviations from the results of the finite volume method. Especially, it struggles to accurately depict the region near the wellbore, in terms of saturation. However, the method is superior in terms of computational efficiency and surpasses traditional methods in terms of speed. To enhance the method, a future recommendation involves combining the pressure distribution from the hybrid method with traditional saturation calculations. This integration could rectify saturation distribution discrepancies while retaining the method's speed advantages. In summary, the hybrid reservoir simulation method presents a promising advancement for reservoir simulation techniques. The study's outcome offers a pathway to address these limitations, paving the way for a more efficient reservoir simulation tool.
