A turbo detection scheme for EGPRS
Başköy (Gülmez), Ülkü; Baykal, Buyurman; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2003)
Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) is one of the 3G wireless communication standards, which provides higher data rates by adopting 8-PSK modulation in TDMA system infrastructure of GSM. In this thesis, a turbo detection receiver for Enhanced General Packet Radio Services (EGPRS) system, which is the packet switching mode of EDGE, is studied. In turbo detection, equalization and channel decoding are performed iteratively. Due to 8-ary alphabet of EGPRS modulation, full state trellis based equali...
A low power readout circuit approach for uncooled resistive microbolometer FPAs
Tepegoz, Murat; Toprak, Alperen; Akın, Tayfun (2008-03-20)
This paper presents a new, low power readout circuit approach for uncooled resistive microbolometer FPAs. The readout circuits of the microbolometer detectors contain parallel readout channels whose outputs are driven and multiplexed on large bus capacitances in order to form the output of the readout circuit. High number of opamps used in the readout channel array and large output capacitances that these opamps should drive necessitates the use of high output current capacity structures, which results in l...
A Feature Extraction Method for Marble Tile Classification
DEVİREN, Murat; M KORAY, Balcı; Leloğlu, Uğur Murat; SEVERCAN, Mete (2000-03-03)
This study focuses on a feature extraction algorithm for classification of marble tiles. The color content and vein distribution are considered to be the main criteria for classification. A color segmentation algorithm is used for detection of veins. The shape analysis of the veins are done by utilizing the distance image.
A High Performance PWM Algorithm for Common Mode Voltage Reduction in Three-phase Voltage Source Inverters
Uen, Emre; Hava, Ahmet Masum (2008-06-19)
A high performance PWM algorithm with reduced common mode voltage (CMV) and satisfactory overall performance is proposed for three-phase PWM inverter drives. The algorithm combines the near state PWM (NSPWM) method which has superior overall performance characteristics at high modulation index and MAZSPWM, a modified form of the active zero state PWM method (AZSPWM1), which is suitable for low modulation index range of operation. Since AZSPWM1 has line-to-line voltage pulse reversals with small zero-voltage...
A lane detection algorithm based on reliable lane markings
Yeniaydın, Yasin; Schmidt, Klaus Verner (2018-05-05)
This paper proposes a robust and effective vision-based lane detection approach. First, two binary images are obtained from the region of interest of gray-scale images. The obtained binary images are merged by a novel neighborhood AND operator and then transformed to a bird's eye view (BEV) via inverse perspective mapping. Then, gaussian probability density functions are fit to the left and right regions of a histogram image acquired from the BEV. Finally, a polynomial lane model is estimated from the ident...
