Effect of particle shape and size on incipient motion of solid particles.

Effect of coarse aggregate size and matrix quality on ITZ and failure behavior of concrete under uniaxial compression
Akcaoglu, T; Tokyay, Mustafa; Celik, T (2004-08-01)
Effects of coarse aggregate size and water/cement (w/c) ratio of the matrix on the formation of interfacial transition zone (ITZ) and subsequently on the failure process of concrete under uniaxial compression were studied. For this purpose, a series of experiments were designed and carried out on mortars with two different w/c ratios containing single spherical steel aggregates of different sizes. The ITZ properties and the failure process of concrete were investigated through tensile strength tests both be...
Effect of grain size on the mechanical prroperties of metals.
Yönak, Ünsal; Department of Mechanical Engineering (1961)
Effect of storage time on mechanical properties of extended-pour irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials
ŞAHİN, VOLKAN; Jodati, Hossein; Evis, Zafer (Elsevier BV, 2020-07-01)
Statement of problem. Recent commercial extended-pour irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials (EPIHIMs) claim to maintain dimensional stability up to 120 hours. However, data regarding their mechanical properties and performance after 120 hours of storage are lacking.
Effect of shape on incipient motion of large solitary particles
Göğüş, Mustafa (2005-01-01)
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of shape and size of solid particles on their initiation of motion in open channel flows. Initial motions of 22 solitary particles having different shapes and sizes were observed in a tilting flume of rectangular cross section. A smooth fixed bed and an obstructing element of smaller height with respect to the particle size was used throughout the experiments. The ratio of the height of the obstructing element to the height of the particle was kept constant...
