BS-]GAMMA-GAMMA DECAY IN THE 2-HIGGS-DOUBLET MODEL
Alıyev, Tahmasıb (1993-08-01)
The rare B(s) --> gammagamma decay has been investigated in the framework of the two-Higgs-doublet model. It is shown that the branching ratio has a great enhancement in comparison to the standard model (SM) prediction. We have found that the ratio of the square of the CP = 1 to CP = -1 amplitudes, \A+\2/\A-\2, which is always less than one in the SM, becomes greater than one for some values of M(H)/M(t). We have also calculated the direct CP-violating parameter epsilon'(gammagamma(-)). It is found that for...
Rare decay of the top quark t -> cl(l)over-bar and single top quark production at the ILC
Frank, Mariana; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2006-10-01)
We perform a complete and detailed analysis of the flavor changing neutral current rare top quark decays t -> cl(+)l(-) and t -> c nu(i)(nu) over bar (i) at one-loop level in the standard model, two Higgs doublet models (I and II), and in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). The branching ratios are very small in all models, O(10(-14)), except for the case of the unconstrained MSSM, where they can reach O(10(-6)) for e(+)e(-), mu(+)mu(-), and nu i (nu) over bari, and O(10(-5)) for tau(+)tau(-). Thi...
Rare decay of the top t -> cgg in the standard model
Eilam, G; Frank, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2006-03-01)
We calculate the one-loop flavor changing neutral current top quark decay t -> cgg in the standard model. We demonstrate that the rate for t -> cgg exceeds the rate for a single gluon emission t -> cg by about 2 orders of magnitude, while the rate for t -> cq (q) over bar q=u is slightly smaller than for t -> cg.
Strange particle production in pp collisions at root s=0.9 and 7 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-05-01)
The spectra of strange hadrons are measured in proton-proton collisions, recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, at centre-of-mass energies of 0.9 and 7TeV. The K-S(0), A, and Xi(-) particles and their antiparticles are reconstructed from their decay topologies and the production rates are measured as functions of rapidity and transverse momentum, p(T). The results are compared to other experiments and to predictions of the PYTHIA Monte Carlo program. The p(T) distributions are found to differ subst...
Massive higher derivative gravity in D-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetimes
Guellue, Ibrahim; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2009-09-01)
We find the propagator and calculate the tree level scattering amplitude between two covariantly conserved sources in an anti-de Sitter background for the most general D-dimensional quadratic, four-derivative, gravity with a Pauli-Fierz mass. We also calculate the Newtonian potential for various limits of the theory in flat space. We show how the recently introduced three-dimensional New Massive Gravity is uniquely singled out among higher derivative models as a (tree level) unitary model and that its Newto...
