It can be inferred from the previous aging research that wisdom, religiosity, spirituality, and psychological well-being are connected to each other. The current study tried to find out, whether there are significant associations between intrinsic religiosity, wisdom, spiritual, and psychological well-being in late adulthood. Specifically, it was hypothesized that wisdom and psychological well-being relation would be moderated by intrinsic religiosity and spiritual well-being for Turkish individuals in late adulthood period. Data was obtained from 165 individuals (97 females and 68 males) whose ages ranged between 65 and 88 (M = 70.30, SD = 5.26). Participants answered demographic information form, Three-Dimensional Wisdom Scale, Religious Orientation Scale, Spiritual Well-being subscale of the Mental, Physical and Spiritual Well-being Scale, and Psychological Well-being Scale. Significant associations were evident between wisdom and psychological well-being, and spirituality and psychological well-being, separately. Unexpectedly, intrinsic religiosity was not related to psychological well-being. The moderator role of intrinsic religiosity on the relationship between wisdom and psychological well-being was not supported, whereas the moderator role of spiritual well-being was supported by moderation analyses of the present study. The affective dimension of wisdom may not reflect Turkish old adults' understanding of being a wise person. For future studies, it is suggested that culturally more appropriate wisdom scale for Turkey’s cultural context would be developed, which would make more possible to explore the true nature of the relationship between the variables of this study. Moreover, results supported the notion that the spiritual well-being of the individuals may matter more than having an intrinsic religious orientation for their psychological well-being levels.
