Dispersive optical constants and temperature tuned band gap energy of Tl2InGaS4 layered crystals
Goksen, K.; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Ozkan, H. (IOP Publishing, 2007-06-27)
The optical properties of Tl2InGaS4 layered single crystals have been studied by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm. The analysis of the room temperature absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 2.35 and 2.54 eV, respectively. Transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10-300 K revealed that the rate of change of the indirect band gap with temperature is gamma =...
Exciton related nonlinear optical properties of a spherical quantum dot
Aksahin, E.; Unal, V. Ustoglu; Tomak, Mehmet (2015-11-01)
The nonlinear optical properties of an exciton in a spherical quantum dot (QD) is studied analytically. The nonlinear optical coefficients are calculated within the density matrix formalism. The electronic problem is solved within the effective mass approximation. The contributions from the competing effects of the confinement, the Coulomb interaction, and the applied electric field are calculated and compared with each other. We have made no assumptions about the strength of the confinement. We concentrate...

Exciton Dynamics of Colloidal Semiconductor Quantum Well Stacks
Erdem, Onur; Guzelturk, Burak; Olutas, Murat; Keleştemur, Yusuf; Demir, Hilmi Volkan (2018-01-01)
Colloidal semiconductor nanoplatelets (NPLs) have recently emerged as a new class of colloidal nanocrystals. NPLs are quasi two-dimensional nanocrystals having atomically flat surfaces and have unique properties such as narrow photoluminescence (PL) emission (similar to 10 nm) and giant oscillator strength. NPLs can be self-assembled into stacks. These are one-dimensional superstructures that can contain tens or hundreds of NPLs in one chain.
