Effect of Sn Alloying on the Diffusion Bonding Behavior of Al-Mg-Si Alloys
Atabay, SILA ECE; Esen, Ziya; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi (2017-07-01)
Effect of Sn as an alloying element on the diffusion-bonding behavior of Al-Mg-Si alloy has been studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mechanical testing of the diffusion-bonded joint. XRD results revealed the formation of Mg2Sn and (Sn) phases during solidification following induction casting. DSC results showed local liquid (Sn) formation during the bonding process for Sn-containing alloys, where its amount was found to...
Effect of crystallization on the electronic and optical properties of archetypical porphyrins
Malcıoğlu, Osman Barış; Bockstedte, Michel (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2020-02-21)
Thin porphyrin films as employed in modern optical devices or photovoltaic applications show deviating electronic and optical properties from the gasphase species. Any understanding of the physical origin may pave way to a specific engineering of these properties via ligand or substituent control. Here we investigate the impact of crystallization of prototypical porphyrins on the electronic levels and optical properties in the framework of density functional theory and many-body perturbation theory. Crystal...
Effect of Delamination on the Strength of Laminated Glass Plate Structures
Aşık, Mehmet Zülfü (2013-11-17)
Laminated glass which consists of two glass sheets connected to each other with PVB interlayer is used in many engineering applications for years. Despite the long history of the use of laminated glass in buildings there are serious problems about delamination of laminated glass units. This paper provides information about delamination issues of laminated glass plate structures. Delamination of laminated glass unit may be due to the thinning of PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) interlayer or the folds which occur dur...
