The effects of post-annealing process on the physical properties of silver-indium-selenium ternary semiconductor thin films deposited by electron beam technique
Çolakoğlu, Tahir; Parlak, Mehmet; Department of Physics (2009)
Ternary chalcopyrite compounds are the semiconductors with suitable properties to be used as absorber materials in thin film solar cells. AgInSe2 is a promising candidate with its several advantages over the widely used CuInSe2. The purpose of this study was to optimize the physical properties of the Ag-In-Se (AIS) thin films that were deposited by e-beam evaporation of Ag3In5Se9 single crystal powder for solar cell applications by means of post-annealing process under nitrogen atmosphere. The as-grown AIS ...
A density functional theory study of oxidation of benzene to phenol by N2O on Fe- and Co-ZSM-5 clusters
Fellah, Mehmet Ferdi; Önal, Işık (2009-06-01)
Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were carried out in the study of oxidation of benzene to phenol by N2O on relaxed [(SiH3)(4)AlO4M] (where M=Fe, Co) cluster models representing Fe- and Co-ZSM-5 surfaces. The catalytic cycle steps are completed for both Fe-ZSM-5 and Co-ZSM-5 clusters. The general trend of the results that were obtained in terms of activation barriers for the Fe-ZSM-5 cluster is in agreement with the experimental and theoretical literature. It was observed that the phenol formatio...

N2O decomposition on Fe- and Co-ZSM-5: A density functional study
Fellah, Mehmet Ferdi; Önal, Işık (2008-09-30)
Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are employed to study N2O decomposition on relaxed [(SiH3)(4)AlO4M] (where M = Fe, Co) cluster models representing Fe- and Co-ZSM-5 surfaces and Fe-ZSM-5 channel cluster. The catalytic cycle steps are completed both for Fe- and Co-ZSM-5 clusters. It is found that the general trend of the results obtained is in agreement with experimental and theoretical literature: Co-ZSM-5 has a lower activation energy barrier than Fe-ZSM-5 and O-2 desorption step is the rate-li...
Hazardous wastes and waste generation factors for plastic products manufacturing industries in Turkey
ÖNCEL, MEHMET SALİM; BEKTAŞ, NİHAL; BAYAR, SENEM; ENGİN, Güleda; ÇALIŞKAN, YASEMİN; Salar, Lalehan; Yetiş, Ülkü (2017-07-01)
A project titled "Hazardous Waste Management in Compliance with European Union Environmental Regulations in Turkey" was carried out with the support of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning in Turkey. In this project, several industries were examined for improving an internet based system called "Hazardous Waste Declaration System" (HWDS) and meeting the requirements of Turkey. Hazardous waste lists and hazardous waste generat...
