Distance Measurement by Phase Tracking
Dogan, Ozan; Demir, Ibrahim; Aydin, Umut (2017-05-18)
In this work, multi frequency continuous wave radar phase unwrapping and the target tracking algorithm are combined. In order to unwrap the wrapped measurement, the unwrapped range measurement or the predicted range is utilized. Methods are assessed with the simulations and field tests. Final tracked range accuracy is shown to be increased without an additional phase unwrapping procedure.
Wireless and mobile security
Bicakci, K; Baykal, Nazife (2001-09-08)
User mobility is becoming an important and popular feature in today's network. This is especially evident in wireless environment. Security is one of the challenging problems introduced by mobile and wireless networking. There are many aspects to the provisioning of security that need to be addressed as part of the development and deployment of future wireless mobile networks. This paper discusses a wide range of issues related to security in wireless and mobile networking and reviews current state-of-the-a...
Coordinate systems for a naval virtual environment
Kılıç, Aslı; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S.; Department of Computer Engineering (2005)
The purpose of this thesis is implementing World Geodetic System (WGS) for Naval Surface Tactical Maneuvering Simulation System (NSTMSS), a High Level Architecture (HLA) based naval simulation, and also implementing body coordinate system for the ships of NSTMSS and its combination with WGS so that NSTMSS can be more accurate, and new ship dynamics models can be integrated to the NSTMSS environment more easily. To improve the coordinate system of NSTMSS these methods were used; World Geodetic System - 1984 ...
GPS/INS enhancement for land navigation using neural network
Kaygisiz, BH (Cambridge University Press (CUP), 2004-05-01)
We propose in this paper a method to enhance the performance of a coupled global positioning/inertial navigation system (GPS/INS) for land navigation applications during GPS signal loss. Our method is based on the use of an artificial neural network (ANN) to intelligently aid the GPS/INS Coupled navigation system in the absence of GPS signals. The proposed enhanced GPS/INS is tested in the dynamic environment of a land vehicle navigating around a closed path on the METU campus and we provide the results. Ou...
