Electrochromic conjugated polyheterocycles and derivatives-highlights from the last decade towards realization of long lived aspirations
Günbaş, Emrullah Görkem; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2012-01-01)
Polymer electrochromism has been considered one of the liveliest branches of conducting polymer research, a tradition continued in the last decade. We have witnessed numerous significant advances, making commercial applications closer than ever. This feature article highlights these advances by separating them into 3 sections. The material design section emphasizes the new molecular structures that have been utilized as electrochromic materials and their promising results. The color control of polymeric ele...
Electrosynthesis and characterization of an electrochromic material containing biscarbazole-oxadiazole units and its application in an electrochromic device
UDUM, YASEMİN; HIZLIATEŞ, CEVHER GÜNDOĞDU; Ergun, Yavuz; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2015-11-30)
Electroactive poly(2,5-Bis(9-methyl-9 H-carbazol-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole) (PolyBCO) film was synthesized to form a highly stable conducting polymer with excellent electrochromic properties. The polymer was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy and colorimetry. Spectroelectrochemistry analysis demonstrated that the polymer can undergo both p-type and n-type doping processes. The polymer has four accessible color states. Further kinetic studies demonstrated that the polymer revealed high...
Electrochromic Properties of a Copolymer of 1-4-Di[2,5-di(2-thieny1)-1H-1-pyrroly1]benzene with EDOT
KİRALP, S; ÇAMURLU, PINAR; Günbaş, Emrullah Görkem; Tanyeli, Cihangir; AKHMEDOV, I; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2009-04-15)
Homopolymer of 1-4-di[2,5-di(2-thienyl)- 1H-1-pyrroly1]benzene and its copolymer with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) were electrochemically synthesized and characterized. Resulting homopolymer and copolymer films have distinct electrochromic properties. At the neutral state, homopolymer has lambda(max) due to the pi-pi* transition as 410 nm and E-g was calculated as 2.03 eV. The resultant copolymer revealed multichromism through the entire visible region, displaying red-violet, brownish yellow green, and...
