The analysis of total factor efficiency in the public lignite mining organizations in turkey
Çimen, Selahattin; Güyagüler, Tevfik; Department of Mining Engineering (2011)
In recent years, the risks created by the import of energy on the security of energy supply has encouraged countries to utilize local resources to a greater extend, and for many countries including Turkey coal is at the top of the local resources. However, it is not sufficient for countries to have an energy resource itself. Intens competition in today's globalized system requires the resources to be produced and utilized in the most economical manner. The supply of the resources to the market in a competit...
Lepton flavor violatingZ→l1+l2−decay in the general two Higgs doublet model
Iltan, E. O.; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2001-11-28)
We calculate lepton flavor violating Z-->l(1)(+)l(2)(-) decay in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model. In our calculations we use the constraints for the Yukawa couplings (xi) over bar (D)(N,taue) and (xi) over bar (D)(N,taumu) coming from the experimental result of the muon electric dipole moment and upper limit of BR(mu-->egamma). We observe that it is possible to reach the present experimental upper limits for the branching ratios of such Z decays in model III.
Combustion behavior and kinetics of a Turkish lignite blended with biomass/magnesite dust
Yousefzad Farrokhi, Farshid; Kazanç Özerinç, Feyza; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2017)
This study investigated the effect of blending on the combustion behavior of Turkish lignite blended with biomass or magnesite dust using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) under air atmosphere. The lignite used in this study is Tunçbilek lignite (TL), which is blended with the biomass types; olive residue (OR) and almond shell (AS), and the inorganic industrial waste, magnesite dust (MD). The blends are composed of various weight fractions of fuels, with a constant weight fraction of molasses (10 wt. %) as...
Constraining four generation Standard Model with b->sy and b->sg
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Pak, NK (1996-12-05)
Using the experimental result on b --> s gamma and theoretical result on b --> sg, a four generation Standard Model (SM) is analysed to constrain the rephasing-invariant combinations of the CKM matrix and masses of the fourth generation quarks.
The Spatial turn in contemporary Irish poetry of Seamus Heaney and Ciaran Carson
Doğan, Buket; Birlik, Nurten; Department of English Literature (2018)
This study discusses the process of places becoming spatialized and of frozen identities turning into mobile subjectivities in Seamus Heaney and Ciaran Carson’s later poetry against the background of the changing conceptions of space, subjectivity, land, history and identity. To analyse their response to the spatial turn and their treatment of place and space in the wake of seminal developments in domestic and international affairs starting with the early 1990s, the theoretical framework in this study emplo...
