Ion implantation in confined, pinching metallic plasmas
Demokan, O; Marji, E (1999-02-15)
A series of preliminary experiments have been carried out to obtain a metallic arc discharge, in the form of an annular cylindrical column, carrying a current in the axial direction. To assert this geometry, a ring-shaped cathode is adopted and an arc formation is triggered by heating the cathode externally. The plasma, initially in the form of a cylindrical shell, is seen to be confined and pinched by its own magnetic field. The resulting, radially inward flux is observed to produce efficient and multidire...
LONGITUDINAL ELASTIC-WAVE PROPAGATION AND ENERGY FLUX AT A DISCONTINUITY OF 2 DISSIMILAR SEMIINFINITE CIRCULAR RODS
Yıldırım, Raif Orhan (1994-10-01)
Elastic wave propagation through an area discontinuity of two dissimilar, bonded, semi-infinite circular rods is investigated analytically. In particular, the variations of the coefficients of stress reflection and transmission are determined in terms of the nondimensional cross sectional area and mechanical impedance parameters. The coefficients of energy flux reflection and transmission are also included. Then, the case is generalized to include a rigid mass attached at the discontinuity.

Conceptual design, testing and manufacturing of an industrial type electro-hydraulic vacuum sweeper
Şahin, Emre; Albayrak, Kahraman; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2011)
In this thesis, conceptual design, testing, development and manufacturing processes of the cleaning (elevator and fan system) and electro-hydraulic systems of an industrial type vacuum sweeper are presented. Thesis is financially supported by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology (Turkey) and Müsan A.Ş. (Makina Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.) under the SAN-TEZ projects with numbers 00028.STZ.2007-1 and 00623.STZ.2010-1. The main purpose is to make critical design changes on existing fan system, design...
ANALYSIS OF MILLIMETER WAVE-GUIDES ON ANISOTROPIC SUBSTRATES USING THE 3-DIMENSIONAL TRANSMISSION-LINE MATRIX-METHOD
BULUTAY, C; PRASAD, S (1993-06-01)
Three-dimensional condensed asymmetrical node, variable grid, transmission-line matrix (TLM) method has been used in analyzing several millimeter waveguides on anisotropic substrates. The dispersion characteristics of image guides together with field and energy confinement properties at millimeter-wave frequencies have been investigated. Edge coupled microstrip line on a uniaxial substrate is analyzed for the even and odd mode dispersion characteristics. Finally the same analysis is repeated for bilateral f...
