A comparison of inpainting techniques in image reanimation
Böncü, Ece Selin; Akar, Gözde (2018-05-05)
Inpainting applications include object removal on images and videos, crack filling, error concealment, texture synthesis, where in this paper, its usage for image coherence and perspective emphasis on video frames in 2D image-to-video conversion system is analysed. Besides, the performance of different techniques in object removal and image reconstruction is compared using visual experiments and quality metrics.
A Comparison Of JMP Wage Decomposition And Quantile Regression Methods In Wage Inequality Assessment
Yağanoğlu, Nazmi; Ercan, Hakan (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Ankara, Turkey), 2008-12)
The decomposition technique of Juhn, Murphy and Pierce (1993) and quantile regression are two of the main tools of wage inequality analysis. JMP technique has the advantage of decomposing the change in wages into three components, and showing residual inequality easily. Quantile regression has the advantage of showing a detailed picture of wage distribution at different quantiles. We apply both techniques to March Current Population Survey (CPS) data of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to analyze the...
A Comparison of methods for trademark retrieval in a large trademark dataset
Tuerxun, Wusiman; Kalkan, Sinan; Department of Computer Engineering (2015)
By the end of the first decades of the 21 th century, the applications for trademarks worldwide have approached an astounding number of 5 million. In Turkey alone, this number has reached the 1 million mark, and is expected by all means to keep increasing. The accelerating competition of trademark influence and uniqueness has intensified trademark piracies and infringements, and therefore resulted in a substantial burden for the patent offices, not to mention direct economic losses. To overcome this ever-in...

A comparison of written feedback and written plus verbal feedback methods in performance management
Erdemli, Cigdem; Somer, H. Canan; Bilgiç, Reyhan (2007-01-01)
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of two different modes of feedback on the reactions of supervisors (raters) and subordinates (ratees) and also on the performance of the subordinates. Using a quasi-experimental design, 77 supervisors giving feedback and 71 subordinates receiving feedback participated in the study. Supervisors were assigned to either Written Plus Verbal Feedback Condition or Verbal Feedback Condition. After receiving a general performance appraisal training and a feedback...
