Comparison of experienced and novice cost estimator behaviors in information pull and push methods
Kiziltas, Semiha; Akinci, Burcu; Gonzalez, Cleotilde (Canadian Science Publishing, 2010-02-01)
Construction cost estimators mainly use analogy-based decision-making processes while estimating activity production rates in new bids They need to search information items that will help them in understanding the differences and similarities between the current and previously Completed projects to select appropriate production rates and make necessary adjustments to the selected production rates. The objective of the study is to understand the effect of information pull-push methods on the behaviors of cos...
Comparison of the resource allocation cababilities of project management software packages in resource constrained project scheduling problems
Hekimoğlu, Özge; Serpil, Canan; Department of Industrial Engineering (2007)
In this study, results of a comparison on benchmark test problems are presented to investigate the performance of Primavera V.4.1 with its two resource allocation priority rules and MS Project 2003. Resource allocation capabilities of the packages are measured in terms of deviation from the upper bound of the minimum makespan. Resource constrained project scheduling problem instances are taken from PSPLIB which are generated under a factorial design from ProGen. Statistical tests are applied to the results ...
Comparison of soft-computing and conventional methodologies in control of servo systems
EFE, MEHMET ÖNDER; Koku, Ahmet Buğra; KAYNAK, OKYAY (1998-09-04)
In this study, the performance of soft-computing methodologies and the conventional controllers are compared for the control of a servo system. A number of approaches in both domains are simulated and their performances are assessed in terms of several performance measures. It is seen that the use of soft computing methodologies result in some desirable characteristics.
Comparison of social networking sites utilization (Facebook) and moodle as a course management system in a face-to-face course
Albayrak, Duygu; Yıldırım, Zahide (null; 2018-09-03)
The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the students’ utilization of Moodle and Facebook as course management system (CMS) in face-to-face course. The research question guided the study was: “How do students compare course Facebook page and Moodle in face-to-face (F2F) course?” A CMS can basically be defined as a software program, containing a series of web-based tools to support a number of teaching, learning and course management procedures. Over the past eight years, CMS systems, consid...
